It seems lately that people have gotten it in their heads that the news subforum is a little sandbox for them. In my opinion, only mods should be able to post in the news thread, with some kind of reaction threads posted elsewhere where regular members can post feedback.

Effective immediately, we're closing down any topics in news that we don't consider news. That means we'll be telling people to move it to Off-Topic.

Also, if they want to fight about it by posting topics just to make our lives miserable, we'll be handling that under the heading of 'wasting our time.'
