You wake up. You get up slowly, stretching. You slept well last night. You check the time. Seven thirty AM. You hop into the shower. You have a busy day today, so you try to get ready quickly.
You pack your kids lunch, giving them a hug as they leave for school. You get into your car, and drive off to work. You stop by a coffee shop to pick up a muffin and a coffee on the way. You arrive at the office, prepared for the day of meetings and busy work.
You come back home, asking your family about their day. You kiss your spouse. You all eat dinner, then eventually split off to do your own things for the evening. You eventually go to bed again. Today was a hard day, but a good day. You hope perhaps it'll get better. You smile before drifting off to sleep. It's not perfect, but you have it good.

You load the children's guns, wishing them the best of luck as they leave for battle. You get with your group, and march off to the battlefield. You don't have time for a meal on the way. You arrive at the field, prepared for the day of war.
You come back to base, not saying anything. It's days like these you miss home, no matter how inhospitable it was. You eat the random mess of food you gratefully eat every day, and you prepare the camp for the night. You eventually go to bed again. Today was a hard day, but a good day. You hope perhaps it'll get better. You smile before drifting off to sleep. It's not perfect, but you have it good.

Hello, and welcome! This roleplay is an idea that's been rolling around in my head and I decided to write it! In this roleplay you play as a person- or rather, two people who are essentially the same. They are parallel versions of one another, one belonging to the sunny and bright world, and another belonging to the grim and dark world. In the story you will first meet your parallel, then you will meet the rest of the group. I'll leave the how under wraps for now.
The first world is much like our own, except unrealistically pleasant. Very little conflict happens there, and everyone lives a good life. Everyone has a job, can pay their bills and get food, everyone has someone to be there for them, everyone has a home. Everyone is loved and cared for, and the only people judged are those that judge others. Not that that's happened in a while. Everyone is happy here.
The other world is much like our own, except much more dismal. The negativity is all that's apparent, with constant war, constant injustice and distrust within the loosely called countries, and frequent conflict between individuals. Every year someone is sent to battle for several months before switching out with another fourth of the population. There is constant fighting between individuals, leaving little companionship. Here everyone is off to war or causing/dealing with problems at home. Family is often created by law, and friends are rarely heard of. It’s rumored that the mysterious overlord of the land intentionally makes it hard on the residents, but that rumor didn’t last long. After all, that’s just how things have always been.
Rules:
1. Follow the site rules.
2. Combat between players is possible, so make sure you PM with the other user to make sure you’re both know and agree how the fight will end.
3. Make your parallels similar. They don’t need to be exactly the same, in fact, their wildly different up-bringings should create differences, but at their core they should be similar.
4. Be creative! Or don’t. It’s more of a suggestion than a rule really. Your characters life doesn't have to mirror the ones approve, those were just to get the point across. Also, if you have an any questions, please ask! I’m always open to ideas and having my ideas probed at.
