Penelope met Peter Wright in middle school when the poor boy arrived at her school as a new student, bruises covering his body from the bullying at his former school. Despite this, however, the boy had the brightest smile Penelope had ever seen and she found herself being drawn to him. Friendship soon blossomed and as the two grew old, their relationship grew into love. At 19 years old, Peter proposed to Penelope, right at the gates of their high school after graduation. She, without a second though, agreed and a year later the two were married.
However, things wouldn't go so well for Penelope. Half a year after their marriage, Penelope was going to school to become an art teacher and while in class, she got the call. Peter was in the hospital. He'd collapsed at work and was in critical condition. He had a rare heart disease that struck very quickly and without warning. By the time she made it to the hospital room, Peter was as good as gone. Devastated, Penelope quit school and sold her home, moving back in with her mother, never saying a word.
As the weeks went on, Penelope found herself simply going through the motions, a walking robot. One day, while walking down to the corner store, she bumped into a man. When she didn't say anything in response, the man took her by the arm and took her with him. Wide eyed, the shell shocked Penelope finally reacted to something... Where in the hell was this man taking her? By the time she was even able to so much as speak a word, they were in a very nice looking study. The entire room smelled of money...
The old man from before was gone, replaced now by a young man. Penelope raised a brow at him, very confused and demanded she be told where she was. All she got in return was a small smirk. The young man explained everything to Penelope. He had been watching her for a while now and he was angered by her actions. Until she was able to see her mistakes, she would be forced to live a life of immortality. She would never be able to die, no disease or bullet would do her in. Once she realized the error of her ways, the man would return and give to her what she rightfully deserves.
The only thoughts going through Penelope's head were thoughts of Peter and meeting him once again and despite the man's warning, she tried several times to kill herself, only to heal quickly afterwards. She always felt the pain, however, but no scars would ever form. She appeared in her 20s for years. About a 100 years have passed and Penelope has watched her family and friends die one after another. She's moved from place to place, trying not to tip people off about her condition. She works as a art teacher for different high schools as she travels. She takes in companions every now and then to try and fill the void that she can't seem to get rid of. When will the cycle of pain end? When will she be able to die? For what purpose is all of this?
Penelope usually lives in a modest house and keeps a room with several scrapbooks filled with pictures of long past loved ones. A single scrapbook sits underneath her dresser, untouched except to move from house to house, filled with pictures of Peter taken from varying places as well as drawings and paintings that Penelope has done of him.
Penelope, herself, is a very relaxed individual, taking things very shallowly. She changes her name from time to time and will often never tell her companions the truth about herself, always fabricating pretty lies for them. She will never admit when she gets close to someone, knowing that she will lose them sooner or later, knowing their frailty.
