"A mutual contact has provided me with this number and assures me of your capabilities. That is all I need to know about you, and all you need to know about me is that I have jobs needed doing and am willing to pay good money for them being done. If you are interested you will reply to this number with an empty message and await further instructions. I am looking forward to doing business with you. - Caesar"
You stuff the interface back into your pocket and light yourself a cigarette. Might be you had planned to get out and away from this life. Might be you were looking for a way in. The facts are that you are broke and need that money. Bills won't pay themselves and people like you don't get real jobs. If you're not a cop you're little people, and little people get nothing. You pick up the interface and look at the message again. Shit. Might as well check it out.
In the year 2150 in Los Santos, life is tough. It’s always been tough, but people like to say that it was better before. Before the climate catastrophes. Before the nuclear wars. Before replicants, off-world colonies and corporate government. Especially before rent-a-cops. Might be this time they are right. Might be it’s always been shitty for the little people. People like you. You’re nobody, unimportant, just another ant on the hill. In this brave new world, your existence amounts to absolutely nill. The worst thing is that you know it, but they try to make you believe otherwise. Anyone can be a rockstar! A millionaire! Your call is important to us, so please stay on the line and wait for your turn! Only there’re millions of people ahead of you, and the queue isn’t moving.
No surprise, then, that some turn to crime. If the system works against you, you fuck the system. You do it your own way. You take what you want when you want it, just like the rich people on TV. And why not? Who’s going to judge you? Everyone everywhere is bought. Justice is dead and morale has been rotting in its cheap shallow grave since before the new century. Money talks in Los Santos. Everything else is void.
Who are you then? You’re just someone who’s down on their luck and in desperate need of cash. Might be you’re used to this life, might be you’re new to it. It doesn’t matter. Right now it’s the only chance you’ve got.

The object of this game is to tell the story of our protagonists in their struggle for survival and, ultimately, power in the future city of Los Santos. Your characters will perform jobs to earn money, which in turn will let you pay your bills, buy equipment, afford better quarters and vehicles, and so on. As your characters wealth and reputation increases you might want to expand and exercise some power of your own. I, as GM, will supply you with missions and obstacles to overcome. What you do with them, and with the story, are pretty much up to you.
In the beginning of this story your character will be shit at everything. You drive like a civilian, shoot like you’ve maybe held a gun once before, and couldn’t hack your buddy’s facebook account to save your sorry ass. As the story progresses the character will develop into a thug, and then a sharp criminal. There will be no system to represent this, so it’s up to you to roleplay it.
