Chuck's always been a bit of a rebel but over the years his attitude has slowly soured turning him from a peace-loving hippie into a troubled anarchist. His keen mind and intellect set him apart from most people, but his extremist nature and lack of respect for authority of any kind cause him more problems than he'd care to admit.

Background/ Bio:
Determined to burn the system down from the inside Chuck hacked his way into the Echo Game auditions to ensure his participation in the event. Unfortunately his plans to hack the Echo Machine making himself into a god in the simulated world fell apart when he learnt that the participants had no access to the tools and equipment he'd need to be able to carry them out, leaving him just as much a part of the system as any of the other players.

Method/ Plan to win the game:
Chuck is all about manipulating systems in unexpected ways, whether these are electronic systems or political ones. His original thinking and unpredictable nature make him a bit of a wild card in the game, and he's just as likely to make himself President as he is to run for Pope.

Appearance:
No one really knows what Chuck actually looks like. His body is covered with black robes and a white mask decorated with red markings which makes it difficult to see any sort of details at to his identity. Appearing to be quite tall, standing at 5'10" in his boots, and with glowing red eyes Chuck can certainly intimidate most people he meets, although his aggressive appearance may also get him into trouble when dealing with law enforcement and security personnel.
Notes:
Despite his anarchist rantings and disheartened view of the current government, Chuck remains a hippie in his heart of hearts and prefers to preserve life and maintain the peace whenever possible.

His plans tend to be progressive in nature, teaching others how to live better lives and break away from dogmatic views and teachings, but he's still willing to become violent when he believes it's necessary.

Chuck's weapon of choice is informational warfare, providing the citizens of rival nations with details of their ruler's corruption and backroom dealings in order to undermine their power base from within, even if this involves falsifying evidence for dissemination.

Personality:
A true-born geek, CC loves technology and the things that it lets her do. An avid gamer and online junkie she spends more time in online virtual worlds than the 'real' one.

Background/ Bio:
CC was one of the first supporters for the public use of the Echo Machine, despite having been only 7 at the time. She has applied for every Echo Game for the last twelve years, but this is her first time being selected as an actual participant.

Method/ Plan to win the game:
Having seen firsthand (virtually) the wonders technology can bring to life CC is determined to use the Echo Game to create a technological utopia which can then be used to make real world breakthroughs in science and technology, through the use of its advanced virtual modelling software.

• Having only ever experienced the bright side of technological development it's unclear what CC's reaction will be if her developments in the game fall into the wrong hands.
• In the real world CC is homosexual, although she does have an online husband and three children in the Galaxy Of Fantasy MMORPG. She also holds the Guildmaster position in the Avenging Angels guild, an all-female group dedicated to preventing online bullying within the game environment by ruthlessly eradicating any individual, group or guild that tries to undermine weaker players.

Name: Lachlan Breac

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Personality: Lachlan is a soul best described as "detached". Having experienced his entire life motionless within the confines of a life supporting apparatus, his mind is not shaped in a familiar way. He has no social stipulations to speak of, having very little experience with human interaction, and his actions are often unexpected, straightforward or brash. He has no concept of his own mortality, and little understanding of most human emotion, but when he is compelled by an emotion powerful enough he often has difficulty expressing it. Those who know him describe him as having a very quirky sense of humour, the jests he makes uninhibited by fear or shame.

Background/ Bio: Lachlan was born with a severe birth defect causing bone loss, rapid muscle atrophy, and the failure of multiple organs. Only through recent advances in technology was he able to survive, though what was left of the boy at that point could hardly be called a life. Confined to tubes and wires in a hospital bed, only his mind was left untouched. Lachlan could not even speak.

Several years into his treatment, an innovative medical professor introduced to him a digital interface wherein he was capable of rudimentary communication with the real world. He used this to speak to those around him, relaying messages of raw emotion and pain. Lachlan was also able to use the interface to receive messages. Through years of relentless rehabilitation he was finally able to learn the English language, and through these words he was granted the gift of knowledge.

Throughout Lachlan's teenage years he developed a general understanding of the world and his own state. He began to develop a stoic personality, beginning to refuse pain killers and claiming that they dulled his mind. Eventually he became renowned for his circumstance, and many were intrigued at the existence of his psyche, completely removed from physical stimulation. His mind was unnaturally developed and seemed to process things several times faster than the average person. Shortly after reaching the age of majority, Lachlan was offered a sponsorship by interested parties to enter The Echo Game, and he accepted immediately.

Method/ Plan to win the game: Lachlan has no initial agenda within The Echo Game - he simply wishes to experience the emulation of a normal life with a physical body. He will play simply to push his own limits and realize his potential - whatever that may entail.

Personality: Jack is when all is said and done quite average at first glance. The only thing he is hiding is an incredibly analytic and fast working brain, he's just too lazy to use it most of the time. A neutral character in general he does whatever he thinks best at the time, or the most interesting. Most of the time he keeps a deceivingly cheerful personality. Due to his lack of much people experience he can be sociopathic at times.

Background/Bio: You know that one kid in school that's really quite and never talks? Then you find out that he has an A+ in everything is in honor roll and taking collage classes. Meet Jack. His family is very rich and Jack could get whatever he wanted, except for going to a school that wasn't boring. He isn't quite because he is antisocial but rather because he finds everyone else incredibly boring. Jack entered into the Echo Game on a whim, he overheard some kids talking about it and it sounded remotely interesting, so he bought his way in.

Personality: She is quiet, sweet, and cares for others. She wouldn't think twice about putting herself in harms way to save/help anther person. She was known to everyone as the innocent, goody-two-shoes. Jess desperately wants to change her image, but she knows deep down shes not a jerk, and she could never be perverse.

Background/ Bio: She comes from a below average income family, and she hasn't always gotten what she wanted. Jess knows to get something, you need to work for it.

Method/ Plan to win the game: Shes not quite sure how she would win, but hopes she'll think of something soon.

Personality: Jojo was the girl in high school with all the friends who went to all the parties and got all the guys. Nobody knows how smart she is because heck, who wants to do work when you can schmooze someone else into doing it? Jojo is very good with people, winning them over, seducing them, manipulating them. She has a charisma that makes people drawn to her, and she's a very good liar. Also, she understands how people tick, and enjoys having power. She's very lazy, though, and holds disdain for work. She just wants to have fun in life with as little work as possible. And hey, if sweet talking her boss into a raise will do that, she has no scruples.

Background/ Bio: Jojo didn't even want to be here. She always thought the Echo Games were pointless to watch, and a whole lot of work to participate in. But her little brother worshiped them. Shawn watched them every year, enjoying the strategy of it all. So, when Jojo applied with him this year as a joke, she couldn't say no when chosen. Her brother is her one weakness, and she just couldn't disappoint him. So now she's here...sigh.

Method/ Plan to win the game: Well she's not too concerned about winning, though it would make Shawn happy. But maybe she can have a little fin while she's here...
