So my idea was for an RP in which we played the crew and marines of a large military starship, patrolling Humanity's various colonies to protect the United Earth Star Alliance from various rebel factions that seek independence. I'm looking for a larger group, around 6-8 players minimum, as I want to show the different events in the RP from different crew aspects, like have the engineering officer and a Marine Sergeant both RP their views of the current space/planetary battle going on. The key to this setting, is that as of the start of the RP, humanity is still unaware of any non-earth-based Sentient life, so no aliens yet. I just want to see if there's any interest in this before I make up a CS.

Brady was raised in the backwoods of South Carolina, where his father was the local sheriff. An avid outdoorsman, Mike's father taught him the skills needed to hunt and survive in the isolated woods around their rural country home. Josh enjoyed being outdoors so much that schoolwork never came easy. He was unable to sit still for a single moment at a time. He never could quite live up to his parents’ expectations, especially since they were the pillars of their small community. After graduating, Josh took the fastest route out of town and enlisted in the military. When not on an operation, Josh's country upbringing shows in everything he does. He is quiet, and polite, never forgetting his manners. In combat, Josh transforms into an intense, no nonsense, warrior. He understands the chain of command and follows orders without questions. Growing up in the woods has made him into an efficient battlefield hunter. Josh is usually the first to see or contact the bad guys. He always volunteers walks the lead.

History:
Joined the Marines at 18, completed Recruit training at Camp Pendelton with the MOS 0311 (Rifleman). Went on to the U.S. Marines school of infantry where he was assigned to the Reconnaissance Training Company, after completion he was awarded the MOS 0321 ( recon ) and assigned to a Mairines Awaiting Recon Training platoon before going into the Basic Reconnaissance Course.

During phase 1,he took courses in Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape ( level c). United States Marine Corps Combatant Diver Course. Basic Airborne Course. Multi Mission Parachute Course. High Risk Personnel Course, and Special Operations Training Group, and was given the MOS 0326. Has cross trained in the US Army Ranger school, Recon and Surveillance Leaders course. Military Free Fall Jumpmaster School and HRST Master course. During phase 2 training he was trained in Advanced Long Range Communications, Weapons and Tactics, Threat Weapons Familiaration, Force Fires, Mobile Reconnaissance, Advanced Airborne, Combat Trauma, Amphibious Training, and Combatant Dive package.

During phase 3 Training he was trained in Direct Action, Close Qurters Combat, VBSS and shipboard Assaults,learning how to operate in both Mairtime and urban environments. During phase four he went on the required six month deployment phase with the III MEF's, 31st MEU in Okinawa. During phase 5 after the platoons 30 day leave, he chose to remain in Force Recon and went to the Marine Special Operations School then was assigned to the Marine Special Operations Regiment 2nd Battalion. His lasT tour before retirement found him assigned to of all things, a Starship.

Personality: Quiet, but fiercely loyal to his shipmates, and intensely focussed on his job. Could be seen as a kinda geeky, shy type, but once you get to know him he opens up and actually becomes pretty chatty. Very enthusiastic about describing electronics and science.
Notable Skills, Combat or otherwise: Holds a degree in electronics, and qualified as an e-war and communications specialist. Passed basic marksmanship, but with an average score. A very strong swimmer.
History: Age 21: Joined the Navy out of university, enrolling as an officer candidate and e-war specialist ((if he doesn't end up and officer I'll edit this))
Age 24: Graduated from the Navy's Electronic Warfare College. Posted to a ground-based position as an intelligence operative
Age 26: Requested transfer to a ship-borne role, approved to serve on the scout corvette Alice Springs monitoring inter-system rebel communication traffic
Age 28: Alice Springs is decommissioned and mothballed - Levi is transferred to a new post.

Position: Naval Crew, Captain of the newly-christened UESA Destroyer, the Convergence of Destiny

Personality: Very strict, to-the-letter, and rule-following. He often does random inspections to ensure his crew is performing at its very best. However, he also wants to ensure his crew remains happy and ready to serve 100% of the time, and isn't above the occasional morale-boosting shore leave. He does his best to keep the crew safe, while also completing the mission required. However, one regulation he commonly breaks, is the strict restriction on lighting a combustible aboard the vessel, because he is frequently seen enjoying a Cuban cigar, both on and off-duty.

Notable Skills, Combat or otherwise: Captain Stirling is a brilliant tactician, having taught at the Naval Academy at the UESA stronghold world of Orpheus IV. He's been a decisive part of several large-scale battles against various rebel forces, and is a valued captain of the UESA, which is why he was given command of the new Mayweather-Class Destroyer, the Convergence of Destiny. He also excels at both ship-board weapons and navigation systems, and has been known to take over those stations in a battle, should the situation require it.

History: Nicholas was born on Earth, in the sprawling mega-city of Chicago, in the Former United States. He was often found beating up other children, not because he wanted to start trouble, but because they had been attacking younger or weaker children. This concept of defending the weak would last throughout his life, as when he was 18, a massive news report came in of an entire UESA Colony being decimated by rebels that had obtained control of a UESA Cruiser, and bombarded the planet's surface. This act is what pushed him to enlist in the Navy, where he would excel in his Academy classes. He would initially be stationed on the Carrier vessel Defiance, as a Petty Officer First Class, eventually rising to the rank of Lieutenant before being reassigned to teach Advanced Weapons and Tactics at the Naval Academy on Orpheus IV. As the rebel attacks got bolder and more devastating, Nicholas would be reassigned to ship service, first as a Commander and First Officer aboard Fleet Admiral Davis' Cruiser, the Dynasty. After proving excellent in ship command when Davis became too injured to continue during a battle, He was promoted to Captain, and assigned a new crew with a newly launched Destroyer, the Convergence of Destiny.

Personality: Selene is cool and professional. She brooks no interference in her area of expertise but respects professionals in other fields. She views the Marines as her family and can be very protective of them.

Notable Skills, Combat or otherwise: Selene is highly qualified in the fields of medicine, biology and cybernetics. She has completed the basic marine combat qualification course but hasn’t fired a weapon since her basic training. She is physically fit and very agile.

History: Selene was born on a USEA base on Luna. Her mother and father were both members of the USEA marine corp. Her mother and father were frequently deployed and she grew up with her father’s relatives in Bern Switzerland.

She graduated at the head of her class and went to medical school at the University of Lucerne. A year before she graduated her father was killed in action during the suppression of one of the frequent rebellions sweeping the outer colonies. Against her mother and families wishes she accepted an officer’s commission in the Marine Medical Corp. After service on several ground based medical facilities she has been posted as chief medical officer on the Convergence of Destiny.

See, we've already got someone wanting to be the Naval Medical Chief, so that's taken. But the option to be the medical chief for the marine's ground engagements is open, if you'd like that?

@Mortarion There's still plenty of room, it's a large ship after all. I would like to put out the suggestion of a Marine character, as we're a bit light on them in comparison to Naval crew.
