It was total madness. The whole Pletano house was turned upside down, searching old corridors, secret passages, and down into the lower chambers that had been classified as off limits because they had been deemed the witch sanctuary. In hos office, Don Kyle Pletano, the head of the demon mob family in charge of two very special witches was flipping his neat office into total chaos. "Where have they gone?!" He growled, flipping over his oak desk.

Another demon came into his office, and he hung his head low. "Sir, we still haven't found the girls, but there is something worse that I should bring to your eye." He spoke, and Kyle forced himself to punch the wall rather than the demon before him.

"What is it?" He growled.

"On top of the Angels, we still haven't heard from Abraxas who also went missing. We think he was captured by the angels." He spoke, and soon Kyle forced his demon out of the office and shut the door behind him. He was still throwing things about his office. His home was destroyed, his men injured, and his weapons gone. It was hard to handle, even harder to swallow and he brought up his cell phone.

"What's the word on Lucifer's men?" He asked the other end of the phone.

"The angels haven't hit here yet, but I doubt they will. They were after the girls too." The.man answered.

"Come back, we'll meet in the initiation room. We have much to discuss. Abraxas is missing, Kai and Lia are gone, and now the family is in ruins we need to launch our counterattack." He spoke, hanging up angrily as he sat in the middle of his office, picking up the photo that had been broken of the girls with their.mother when they were young.

He would never fully admit it, but he cared for them when they were young and learning, but the stronger they became the less of them He saw as those two innocent girls. "When you two return, I'll have you in chains." He spoke, throwing the photo down as he looked.outside. "How could you leave when I have cared for you for so long?"

--

The night had been completely chaotic, the blonde with wavy hair pulled up into a ponytail noted. She looked behind her to see her sister and an angel carrying the injured.form of a demon. "I don't see why we are taking him too." The angel spoke, his bright green eyes piercing to Ophelia.

"Because he's hurt, and it's my fault he got hurt. Now, come along, we are not that far from where we need to be." Ophelia said, trekking through the dense forest that surrounded the Pletano home. They were miles out now, and Opehlia had.taken point, knowing she had.some work to do when they got to her secret sanctuary. Of course, her sister, Kai, knew about it, but this.angel nor the demon did.

"How much further?" Zephaniah grumbled, and Ophelia turned and flicked her wrist, causing the demon to levitate and near side by side with her.

"Quit complaining, or have you forgotten that you are gravely outnumbered here." She said, and Zephaniah rolled his eyes.

"Why haven't you two attacked me yet then?" He asked.

"You weren't with the other angels, just like he wasn't with the demons trying to keep us there. What's your name anyway?" Ophelia asked, looking to Kai. Her sister was her best friend, and the one she saught to protect.

"Zephaniah, but.you can call me Z." He said.

"Zephaniah will do quite nicely, thank you." Ophelia said, and when they got to a large oak, her hand twisted and Zephaniah was holding the unconscious demon again. "Were here."

Ophelia held out her hands and she.whispered something in an old language before a pathway opened. Zephaniah was stunned, but he saw the look he was getting. "Kai, go ahead, you too Zephaniah, I have to reseal the path." She said, and soon the.path Zephaniah found himself on with the other witch became stairs and they came.into a very dark room.

"Please place the demon on the table here. I have a lot of work to do." Ophelia said, politely as she.opened up some cabinets.and began pulling out herbs.

Zephaniah obeyed and stepped back, his eyes looking to the brunette witch. "So, what happened?" He asked, low enough for only Kai to hear.

--

Ophelia's eyes studied the demon. None of the other demons had ever thrown themselves in harm's way for her or her sister, but he had managed to get stabbed by an angel for her, and her spell had knocked him unconscious to prevent further pain. He'd gotten that angel though, hooked him good before he had gotten stabbed. She began mixing the herbs she had gathered and after she made her paste, she placed.it.on the demon's wounds.

"I'm just glad you're not conscious for this. It tends to be painful." She spoke, her hands glowing with a white light. After a few minutes she pulled her hands away and placed her hand on his forehead, lifting her previous spell. She pulled up a chair beside him and waited for him to wake.

“Are you sure?” Abraxas asked the person on the other end of the phone as he sat up in bed. “Understood, sir.” With that Abra flipped his phone shut and rolled out of bed.

In minutes he was dressed and out the door with every weapon in his room decorating his body. As he walked down the hallway he could hear light thumps on the ceiling indicating the angels were already descending on the complex. Abraxas pulled his gun from the back of his pants and kept it ready as he moved quicker down the hall. His only goal was to get to the girls and get them out safely and unnoticed. It was a perfect opportunity to gain their trust and get them to Lucifer.

By the time Abraxus reached the main area of the compound, the angels were already throwing open door and killing his fellow demons. For only a moment did he pause to take in the blood bath that was happening before he spotted the twins across the room. Kai had fire wrapped around her hands and was throwing fireballs at any angel that got close to her or her sister. And the few that got within touching range were brought down by a quick curse that left them dead at her feet. She was truly the angel of death.

Abraxas made his way across to the sister, blowing the heads off of angels as he went. As he drew near to the sisters he noticed that three angels had ganged up on the girls. One was dead by fire ball and another being put down by a curse, but the third went straight for Lia with a sword. Abraxas jumped in front of Lia and took the blade just below his rib cage. He let out a growl and his eyes turned at bright red. The angel pulled the blade out and went to swing it at Abraxas’ neck but Kai swirled around and placed two fingers on the angel’s chest and killed him. That was the last thing he remembered as he fell to the ground.

----

Kai followed her sister and the angel and demon that she insisted they brought with them through the woods. Though she made sure to stay in the back incase angels figured out where they had gone. The dull quietness the followed them in the forest put her on edge. Every rustle of leaves, every twig that snapped, any bird that chirped made her jump. She was ready for something to jump out at them but no one followed.

“Would you two quit talking? You will give away where we are if they are looking for us.” Kai half whispered from the back of the pack. At this point it did not matter why they brought either the angel or the demon, as long as they were safe. She could kill them both later if they tried to harm Lia or herself.

After what seemed like forever they finally reached their secret hide out. Kai pushed the angel into the doorway and up the stairs without bother to argue with her sister, Lia could seal the path better than she could anyway. Kai waited for her sister to join them before putting the demon on the table.

“Why did he step in front of the blade anyway?” She wondered out loud as she ripped the front of the demon’s shirt while her sister grabbed the ingredients that she needed. She walked over the little kitchenette and got a pan full of water and several rags before bringing them back to the table for her sister.

Z, or whatever his name was, asked her what happened in a whisper and her brown eyes looked over at him with a glare. “Why don’t you tell me? You were a part of the angels that attacked us.” She replied in a whisper that was just as loud as his. Without another word she turned away from him and walked down the stairs to the outside door. Pulling her knife out of her pocket she began to carve different symbols into the wood while chanting in Latin under her breath. When she was done she cut the palm of her hand slapped her hand on the door. The five marking she drew glowed a deep red for several seconds then faded.

With a sadistic smile she made her way back up to where her sister was sitting and waiting for the demon to wake up. “Please?” She asked holding out her bleeding palm. “I sealed the door so that it will kill anyone that tried to open it other than me or you.” She offered as an explanation.

------------

Abraxas woke up with a start and his hand reached out to wrap around the closest neck he could find which just so happened to be an angels throat. How convenient. He swung his legs of the side of the table and tightened his grip around the angel’s neck. Before he could stand up though he felt two fingers resting on the back of his neck.

“Two words and you are dead. Let the angel go.” Kai said from behind him. Abraxas looked back at her with red eyes and growled. Kai simply raised her eyebrows and he let go. He was of no use to Lucifer if he died.

“What the hell is he doing here anyway? And where are we? What happened?” He looked around at the little tree cabin. Behind him, Kai was stretching a bleeding hand out to her sister and in front of him was an angel. What happened after he got stabbed? He looked down at his stomach only to see that it had been healed.

Lia watched the brief reaction from the demon and Angel, her eyes turning.a white.color as an invisible barrier came up between them. She took Kai's hand and allowed her hand to glow white as her sister's skin closed, the.blood disappearing. "Thank you, Kai." She spoke, and she saw the angel touching the barrier. "Good luck getting through. My seals, shields, and barriers are second to none. Well, aside from Kai if she ever applied herself. If it were up to her, you would be dead," she said looking at the angel, and then to the demon, "And we would have left you for dead. However, you took a rather gnarly wound for me. Probably would have killed you if I hadn't knocked you out and started small healing spells then."

She paused, turning to the Angel and walked through her barrier, taking.him off guard as she took the blade from his hilt and showed the blood on it. "And this is angel blood." She said, moving back through the barrier and collecting the blood in a vial. "I don't care why you dis it, but the fact that an angel was killing other angels speaks volumes. A seraphim at that."

She closed her eyes and breathed in deep. "So both of you calm. I'd rather not drug you."

She was.only half joking, but the tension was killing her and she moved her hand and some cups came around and tea was poured in them. "Now, sit, be civil. We just want to ask a few questions because you're both curious." She said, and she noticed the.demon eying his wound, and her eyes softened. "It's gone, I owed you. I had to have you unconscious, I won't cause pain if it can be avoided."

"So when's the barrier come down?" Zephaniah asked, and Ophelia sipped her tea.

"When I am sure I don't have to drug you both." Ophelia quipped. She sat down and motioned for the demon to sit. "Please sit, all of you make me nervous." She asked, and she looked to Zephaniah. "Now, why did you come?"

--

Zephaniah could tell that Kai didn't much like him. He may have come in with the angels, but he didn't attack the.demons unless they attacked him. In fact he killed more of his brothers than he care to admit. Then he felt the demon's hands around his neck and once released, he backed away. The the barrier came up.

It was painfully obvious then. Two sisters, one light, one dark. He tried to move through the barrier. Normally no magic could hold him back, but this did, and.it was foreign. They were special. Special indeed. He had listened as the blonde spoke and when she took his.blade and spoke.of Angel blood, he looked down. He didn't want.anyone, especially a demon to know.

The he heard the question, and he began pacing behind the barrier. "My batallion, my former battalion, was charges with a single task about a month ago. To capture two weapons that the demons had that could turn the tide of the war in our favor. It wasn't until last week when we were planning our infiltration were we told that it was.two young women." He stopped and Lia's eyes cast away.

"Anyway. In my mind that changed things. They wanted.to snatch you both away and lock you in the holy cathedral about six miles from here. I didn't want any part of it and left the battalion. However, I know my Colenel, he would have broken you two to get you away from the demons and I couldn't let that happen. So I 'returned' because I couldn't watch two living being a with thoughts and feelings being treated like nothing." He said, and soon he found Ophelia standing before him again.

She placed a hand on his forehead, he barely noticed that she passed through the barrier again, but he soon felt light headed and he fell to the floor. When he woke, what couldn't have been moments later, Ophelia was standing.

"He's telling the truth." She confirmed, but she teetered and near fell. "Still haven't got full control over that, between all the healing and spells from earlier, especially the destructive ones, I'm tapped out, Kai. I need rest, and so do you."

Zephaniah saw Ophelia wave her hand and the barrier came down. "What about the demon?"

"His name.is Abraxas, if we'll call you by yours you will call him by his. We don't need to fully question his motives. He's been around us for years." Ophelia hissed. "Besides, right now he's still got some healing to do, and if you don't calm down, I'll knock you out again."

Zephaniah shrugged. "Can I at least ask why he got.in the way of an angel blade?"
