Hello everyone!

I am Metalhead33, also known by my real name Zsolt Tóth, or by my OC's name Stephanus Tavilrond on several other sites.
I come from Hungary, Central Europe, if anyone is looking for an explanation why I have a drastically different timezone or Roll my Rs :D
I really love RP'ing, it is my passion. Serious or casual, long paragraphic or one-liner, violent/warlike or romantic/erotic, I love RP'ing.
One thing that may probably annoy several people though - especially whom I call "canon elitists" - is my fascination with crossovers and cross-universe settings. I simply have a fetish for them.
I began roleplaying in 2005, but until 2011, I was rather bad at it. I was barely capable of anything paragraphic - now I am quite the opposite, having the tendency to get carried away with something and end up writing a post that may be a bit too long. I created my first completely own world in 2009, and that is when I created my most-used OC Stephanus Tavilrond, who is from that world - Artograch, the setting of my own (now-dead) roleplaying forum, Ways of Darkness.
My dream is to make a video game based off Ways of Darkness one day - a video game set in Artograch. That is what inspired me to begin learning programming.

Other than roleplaying, my other interests include programming and computer-stuff in general (like obscure hardware and software), music, linguistics (I even make conlangs), and history. I also have a superficial interest in economics too, especially historical economics.
In addition to playing as my OC, I also have some experience being the "narrator" too. I never had any experience with dice-rolling and paper-and-pen systems such as DnD, only more free-form systems employed by forum-based RPGs, or simplified systems employed by my favourite CRPGs like the Might and Magic series.

I hope I'll fit in. *bows*

Are there any subjects you have a high preference for in RPs? (High Fantasy, Star Wars, other Sci-fi, Steampunk, Anime, etc)

I like Medieval Fantasy over everything else. That is the type of world I created Stephanus for, and that is the type of setting I have the highest preference for.
But due to my fascination with crossovers, I also move around pretty confidently in Anime and Touhou settings as well. Sci-fi and Star Wars though? Not so much...

How comfortable are you at reading lots of stuff by others who are deeply engaged in their characters and thus tend to write a lot?

I am comfortable. I love it when people are immersed with their characters, as long as they don't end up mixing up IC and OOC. Most of my troubles with people came from the latter.
I also like it when people respect character integrity and pretend to be their characters, rather than just using them as avatars to reach their desires (erotic roleplayers are very often guilty of this. I do engage in smut, but I still believe that character integrity is very important)
I like paragraphic roleplaying, and I like long posts, however... When something absolutely dwarfs my post, I start feeling guilty of wasting that person's talent. Not to mention, when the long post has lots of "padding" (irrelevant information you cannot reply to), sometimes I may think like "How does one reply to that?"

I extremely respect and agree with everything here. I am currently running a fantasy rp. We're in a bit of a downtime/character development but this may also be a great time to introduce new characters. We'll be starting the second arch in our story in a couple of weeks when some main players return from vacation. The rp is pretty casual, but that doesn't mean we don't have many extremely talented writers contributing. We have quite a healthy amount of players already participating, but please don't let that intimidate you. If you're interested, give us a look, the link is in my signature :)

Ah. Good to know. we'd offer you the option to join the large group RP we're running, but seeing how its Star Wars, it might not be your forte.

Otherwise we do agree that excessive padding is excessive. Quality over quantity any day.
