No one's knows about Freelancer. Only freelancer and select individuals do. Purge were never informed of its existence until blood went to help. However even then no one knows the whereabouts of their base

I leave for a bit and everyone is just walking through the main entrance to the secret base. That only Hive and yamada know the entrance to.

Of course they don't know about their base. However, they are aware that an organization has targeted their members. They don't know it's name, but it's a bit hard to miss when people are attacked.
