The year is 2172. It's been one hundred years since the world ended. Ever since then, the only survivors of the world live through raiding, stronghold building, nomadic societies or some how manage to eek out prosperity through a combination of miraculous circumstances and hard core work ethic. October, the great warlock rules over the ruins and current city of what was once New York. Still called New York, the city possesses no more than a five hundred thousand living souls, which is less than a ghost of how many people that once lived there, and they come from all over the known world. Seven million people live in whole over the entire former nation of America. Clean water is scarce, trying to live without being strong is almost impossible, and many societies that exist are unlawful, with only guidelines except for the obvious "Thou shalt nots", which only includes the pure evil, such as murder. New York's Potentate, October, rules and leads New York as the most powerful user of magic in the world. He leads the city state of New York as the only city state that looks perfectly modern in the world. Vestiges of former modern life still exist, but few areas have both clean water, running electricity, and the comforts of the former world.
October, however, has managed to lead his state into extreme wealth and prosperity through being a "Very" benevolent Dictator. He's not a saint by any means but he understands how to govern the country. Angering him will lead to catastrophe, pleasing him leads to prosperity, and sometimes he is very merciful, if he deems the situation fit for him to be. October has artificial intelligence drones, androids and robotic creatures roaming the streets as security, electricity is abundant and the water is clean, after he cured the local area of it's potent radiation with exceptionally strong magic, he set up filters and keeps water and the whole area clean easily. The power of electricity lights up the streets at night and indoor housing, and the power of New York is allegedly enough to conquer the known world. Their probably right.
In this RP, you are an apprentice, or at least an initiate of October.
Initiate : ((You are not experienced at all. You might wield enough danger to be lethal towards a few enemies at once, but rely on guns and weapons rather than magic to fight))
Apprentice : ((You are well enough with magic to take on at least a handful of people with their guns and lay waste to them all with well honed spells))
Adept : ((You are considered experienced, with honed spells and enchantments that are strong enough to fight and kill many enemies easily. You can deflect a few ammo rounds with shots. ))
Journeyman : ((You are considered experienced enough to wander the world without continuing your apprentice, in October's opinion. His standards are high though. Journeymen can conjure powerful spells that wipe out many enemies in one spell casting, and their enchantments can deflect bullets.))
Mage : ((You aren't anywhere near a master magician, but you are still exceptional for a magician. Since October's standards are high, you are actually as powerful and skilled as magicians that are considered local or regional wise men. That's very exceptional. You can conjure powerful elemental servants and guards, and conjure very strong spells that can frighten even intelligent thinkers and folk who are known as being very strong skeptics. At this level, Mages can even deflect and ward against energy weapons)).
High Mage ((Some mages who become High Mages are known as masters of magic. There may be no such thing, but High Mages are undeniably powerful, capable of taking out small armies of their enemies, conjuring shields of energy against plasma energy, laser energy, missile rounds, grenades, bazookas or even tank shots. Even conjuring spells strong enough to resurrect someone are available at this level. But usually conjuring resurrection spells can only occur once per subject cast on. Often, even High Mages require that they can only conjure the magic to resurrect anyone once per year. Magicians more powerful than High Mages exist.
Wizard: No Mage who has reached a Wizard level of power has ever been born with their level of status so high that they could reach between the ages of forty five to fifty without hard study and constant practice. Indeed, most wizards are at the age of sixty, at least, before reaching this stage of magic. Wizards can do far more than just manipulate energy into fighting for them in the form of lightning and storms, but can even begin to radically restore irradiated areas into normal Pre-World War III status. Wizard's magic is strong enough to defy the rules of magic that High Mages and lower Mages struggle with just through sheer force of will. Eventually, a Wizard can force and manipulate enough power into being that they can rule their own city states, as October has, just by being as powerful as they are. Trying to classify anyone's magic beyond this level is possibly fruitless. Even October is classified as a Wizard. Even restrictions on former nearly impossible spells dealing with resurrection are far less potent, although they still exist. For example, a Wizard might be able to resurrect twelve men and women a year.

Bio: He doesn't discuss it much, but he is an extremely important man, Potentate of New York, and he is three hundred years old. Actually 297 years old. His appearance matches that of a 30 year old man.
This role play will mix a serious nature and situations with more comical based Anime-esque situations. Also, the highest level you can start as is Journeyman.
