The Grey Checkpoint was second only to the White in it's security level, the Grey district having walls about it with small gates every few yards or so. Each gate was manned by at least three soldiers armed with stunners and standing at attention. There was an officer at each gate as well in a small kiosk beside the door who checked the credentials of each person looking to pass through.
Jenga slowed to a walk, drawing one of his few identification cards from his bag and keeping it in hand as he approached the nearest bored looking officer. A moment later, he was passing through the checkpoint with a tired 'goodnight' coming his way from the rather bored looking young officer. He couldn't see the faces of the soldiers, since they had reflective visors in their helmets, but he could feel their eyes on him briefly as he walked by.

Roman almost hissed. Look at mister Fancy Pants and his swag ID card that he probably stole. She looked around. If she was careful, she could sneak over the wall via one of the rooftops...Well, it was certainly worth a shot.
While she was used to running, climbing was another matter. It took her some effort to climb the side of the tall house without attracting any attention, but she eventually made it, and snuck over onto the wall. There was a brief moment when she had to lay low as one of the guards started looking around suspiciously, but after that, she was free and clear. Now, how to get back down...

A guard huffed in mild boredom, rotating his arm to stretch his shoulder before leaning against the wall not far from where Keenan was sneaking about.

Jenga glanced back in faint amusement, but did not slow or turn on his way through the throng to the Tower, the House of the Marshalls.
It was a tall tower, amongst the several sets of barracks, hangers, and garages that made up the Grey District. It was grander then the other buildings, and consisted of 49 floors in recognition of the 49 known City states that had first risen up after the collapse. Of course there were fewer then that left but Basin's architects had been sentimental and had seen fit to acknowledge that number.
Only the Marshalls lived in the tower though, each with their own set of private quarters and personalized locks. Privacy was worth more then gold in this day and age, and the Marshalls had it in abundance. Their dragons though, being to large and unpredictable to keep in the city walls, were kept out of the dome and to the East of the city where they could soak up the sun and warm their scaley hides in dens and a monitored environment when not on missions.

After pausing to make sure the guards weren't about to turn in her direction, she leapt off the side and scampered away before anyone had a chance to notice. She really hoped that getting back would be easier. But that wasn't likely.

"Robbing a Marshall, at night in the Grey," Muttered Jenga to himself now hunching his shoulders to the wind and walking along at a brisk pace. "Not even getting paid for it. Ha! This job better be worth it."
Soon he was outside the House of the Marshalls and, with the same stolen ID card he had used to get in the district, he got into the building. Access to the interior of the building was easy. It was to the upper levels where the private quarters were located that he would have a bit more trouble. But he was already working on a plan for that.

But Roman had a better idea; or so she thought. She decided that she'd come in through the roof. Which would mean much more climbing for her, which she wasn't enthusiastic about, but she'd never get in via the front entrance anyway, so she didn't have much choice. So, she began her long climb up the side of the building.

Victor stripped off bits and pieces of his sand blasted and scorched training armor, setting it aside on his work table beside his helmet. His conversation with Orion that night was more somber then usual, and darker. Focusing on the events he had witnessed while on patrol two days ago, events he had gotten in touch with another Marshall about, a man called Ethan. Their letters were brief and as vague as they could make them, as well as coded, but still he did not like keeping them around. Orion had insisted though that he not throw them out and that he simply dispose of them later, as throwing them out could risk someone else finding them.
These letters were exactly what the Bidder intended her potential employees Keenan and Jenga to procure for her, as it was always nice to have Marshall in your pocket and Victor would make a useful one.
But even as Jenga made his way up to the floor Victor's rooms were stationed, the Marshall was moving to destroy the evidence.

Roman finally struggled up to the roof after a little while, and quickly headed for the door to the stairs that led down to the topmost level. This is where her avoidance skills would come in handy.

Victor sunk into his chair, still wearing the red left hand gauntlet used for training and flipping through the messages he had sent and received on the small screen embedded in it.

Jenga paused outside his door, hesitating before putting an ear to the cold metal wall and setting a small amplifier to it just below his ear.

Roman scowled. There was Narcissus again, with more of his fancy little superior nicknacks and contraptions. She almost snorted with disgust. With no one else in the hallway, there was little point in trying to hide from him now. "Well, look at you all fancied up. He's in there, and he's probably going to get rid of whatever it is we're both after." She said, though not loud enough for Victor to be able to hear. She crossed her arms with a frown.

Jenga glanced over at the twig boy, rolling his eyes before looking back to the door. "I know. Im trying to record him talking so I can get the voice lock to open up on this door." He muttered in annoyance. Seeming to give up on that though he straightened up and slipped his amplifier back into his bag. "But I guess that's not gonna happen," He raised a hand and knocked four times on the door.

Victor looked up sharply, closing up the messenger service on the gauntlet and getting to his feet.

"You should have done it that way in the first place." She replied, gesturing to his knocking.

"I didn't ask for your opinion did I?" Asked Jenga with an arched eyebrow, folding his hands behind his back and putting on a large grin when the door was opened up to reveal the rather annoyed and suspicious looking Marshall.
"What." He asked, voice clipped and terse.

Roman blinked as though in surprise at seeing Victor, and she sidled over to have a look around at the room. "Hey wait a minute brother, I thought you said that this was father's room? You have a really bad memory." She laughed, then looked at Victor timidly. "Sorry sir, wrong door I guess." She said sheepishly, then grabbed Narcissus's arm and dragged him off.

But hidden away in her jacket was the pad with the letters on it.

Victor narrowed his eyes, stepping out into the hall way. "Hold up there." He said sharply, closing his door behind him and following after them.

"Really? Really?" Jenga hissed at Keenan as he wrested his arm from her grip.

"Who's your father. I might be able to point out his door for you." Victor asked, his face blank and clearly showing he didn't believe a word of their story as he folded his arms and looked at them.

"Uh..." Roman paused. After a moment, she gave Victor a sheepish grin. "Heh."
And with that, she bolted down the hallway. Running was her strong suit.

Jenga yelped when the Marshall lunged at him, managing to escape his grasp and sprinted after Roman.

Victor growled in annoyance, racing after them down the hall. He didn't dare set off an alarm though, if he did the Guards would be right on them. They'd find the message pad, they'd read the messages, they'd KNOW.

Roman sprinted back the way she came. She was a little bit curious as to why this marshall wouldn't call for backup. What was on that pad that was so important? She smirked at the thought. She ran back up to the roof and sprinted across it, hesitating only a split second as she looked down at the drop. Then she jumped.
