There was a loud tinkling sound that bounced around the nearly empty room after the lamp played a game of chicken with the wood floor and technically won. "God(s) damn it!" There was a heavy thump as a heavy boot smacked almost gently against the nearest wall. There would've been a much harder thump, but the place was being rented, and there wasn't any point in wasting the deposit just yet. "Well there goes the whole operating after the sun went down idea." The man crossed his arms. "Unless I can get another one for six box.--- unless." He pulled out his wallet and checked to see if the 'unless' had any chance. It didn't.

Jynmi wanted to yell, and would've but there was a knock on the door. As much as he wanted to scream, it wasn't the time now, not any more. He took hold of the anger and pushed it down. There'd been a lot building up so he needed to use a wide plunger, combined with all the body weight he could muster before he could shove the anger into its basement and lock the heavy oak doors. "One moment please." He called, as he hurried around his cheap desk to sit on the lawn chair behind it. He cleared his throat. "Come in, please."

There was a whine from the door, protesting the lack of any popper greasing in the last couple of months and the face of someone angelic with a neck that could make a bull whistle came in. "Imsar?" The woman said, nodding to him, and taking the chair opposite him. It was a nicer chair, still the lawn variety, but it was a dark brown that went well with the color of the room. "Everything alright?"

"Sure, Max." Jynmi said. "Nodding. As good as it could be, anyways, but enough about me and the remains of a suicidal lamp you should watch your step for. What's going on with you? Got another job for me, by any chance, because I'll be honest I'm not in the best circumstances financially at the moment. "

The woman gave a small nod before reaching into her pocket to pull out an envelope. "Well its not much, but here's what I owe you from the last job." Jynmi took it without a word, and the paper disappeared into his coat pocket. "As for something new, yeah I've got something, but its not going to be easy. Could be dangerous."

"Dangerous huh? That's a new one. If its so bad why not get one of the wardens to do it?"

"A bit short handed at the moment. Look, if the jobs too much for you."

Jynmi waved away the rest of her sentence as if it was a bee getting too close for comfort. "No Problem. I'll take it, whatever it is. What's the job?"

"There's a rogue we need you to track down?"

Jynmi's eyes narrowed. "A warlock?" The woman shook her head. "What then?"

"Its difficult to explain, especially since most of it I'm not even supposed to know, but what I can tell you is guy hasn't technically broken any of the laws of magic, and his name is Jarold Glinmer." She handed him a picture of a middle aged man with a goatee, and thick glasses. The guy's head was smooth enough to confuse for a flesh colored pool ball. "His last seen address is on the back." There was an awkward moment of silence before Max got to her feet and with a quick nod hurried out the door, closing it softly behind her.

For a moment Jynmi sat in silence, looking at the man's picture and trying to figure out exactly why someone the wardens were looking for could be considered rogue, but not a warlock. He shrugged and headed out to his car, the Frankenstein. "Okay Mr Glimmer." He pushed the key into the ignition, and the engine came to life with a nervous little squeak which was better than what he normally got. "Let's see if I can get my hands on you before the electric bill is due. "

In a manor across town a young woman was sitting on the floor in a huge library, sitting crossed legged and her eyes closed. She took a deep breath and slowly the items on the floor around her started to float and circle around her, each having their own glow to them.

After a time there was a knock at the door and she sighed, then waved her hand and the items floated to the ground back where they belonged. She stood, pulling the ribbon from her hair and letting it fall across her shoulders. She opened the door and a young girl stood there, smiling. The woman sighed and said "Luna...I have told you...you need to stay in your true form while I'm working."

Luna tilted her head then said "I was in my true from until the door bell rang. You didn't hear it so I shifted and got it. This came from Mrs. Stone. Looks like another case for you, Margaret" Margaret took the package and opened it, reading thru the file quickly. "A Mr. Glimmer...seems she's worried he could be a target...but doesn't know who? I hate having a psychic as a client but very well" She went back into the office and set the file on her desk, picking up her cloak.

"Well Luna, don't just stand there. I will need in your true form for this. The address here shows a complex on the north side of town." Luna nodded and flashed brightly. The girl had vanished and a black wolf stood in her place, a collar around her neck. Margaret nodded and headed for the front door. "Let me open a shadow path then we shall we get going...."

A few hours later Margaret and Luna walked up the steps to the building, getting to the front door and Margaret waved her hand and the door opened for her. She smiled and said "after you, Luna"

Frankenstein ambled up along the empty city street. There was a pop from somewhere towards the car's rear, but Jynmi didn't duck down because after a lot of practice he'd learned to detect the subtle difference between bullets and something important in the rear of his vehicle giving a death rattle. "I don't know what that was." He put the car into park and pulled out the keys, just in case someone was dumb enough to steal the vehicle because of the kind of thinking that lead people to believe that old and valuable were the same thing. "But I'm sure its going to be expensive." He got out of the car and dropped the keys into his pocket.

The picture of mr. Glimmer appeared in his hand and he turned it around to double check the address. "The right spot at least." He kicked his car's front tire, not too hard though, because such an act would anger the god(s) of old automobiles who'd see to it that everything still intact would suddenly crack in half. "And so there goes the day's bright side. Now, let's see what kind of sucker punch I'm walking into." There was no reason to believe there'd be any punching what so ever, the fact wasn't lost on Jynmi, it was just a certain something in the air that whispered to him about how the day was going to end with at least a single black eye, and he felt better believing it was going to come completely out of nowhere as opposed to somewhere he'd be able to easily spot and avoid.

Five minutes and three wrong turns later, and Jynmi was almost certain he'd found the right hallway. "Okay. So it should be this one right here." He stopped, and pointed at what he hoped would be the correct door. It was hard to pull his attention away from the paper, but he managed. "Yep, this is the room." He reached to knock but stopped upon realizing there was a bit of space between the door and its frame. "Mmm maybe he's home? Can I bet that lucky?" He knocked twice softly, and slowly pushed the door open. "Hello? Mr. Glimmer, are you here? I'm a friend, maybe."

Margaret walked down the hallways, Luna leading the way with her nose. They stopped at a apartment and Luna barked, looking at Margaret. Maggie nodded and waved her hand, the door opening. She looked around inside and muttered "no one home...but something was here"

The pair walked inside and Maggie started to looked around, sensing something in the room but couldn't place it. Luna was sniffing around when they heard steps and someone call ghru the door. Luna ran over to Maggie who pulled out her blade and her eyes glowed, ready for a fight.

There was no response. So Jynmi tried again. "Hello? Mr. Glimmer, are you here? If so, you should come out now. I'm not sure what it is that's going on exactly, but you probably could use a friend, or if not a friend, at least someone to explain what exactly is going on." He paused to give the person a chance to reply. Nothing happened. He waited. The nothing continued to happen, but faster like when a light bulb explodes in the middle of the night. "Okay. I'm coming in." He took a deep breath, readied his wizard staff, which glowed with a white light because he didn't want to get attacked by someone or, seeing as this was warden territory, something, and moved deeper into the room, doing his best to take everything in before someone had a chance to jump out of the shadows.

Whatever had happened, it was done in a hurry because the room looked like a tornado had stopped by, drank some tea and destroyed everything not nailed down, and even some of the nailed down stuff got worked over.

Jynmi would hear a growl and be tackled by a huge black wolf, pinning him down and growling in his face. Margaret walked forward, her blade out and aimed at his neck, the blade glowing purple and black. "What are you doing here? And speak quickly...lives may be at risk and Luna here does not have a lot of patience" Luna growled again.

There was a pause as Jynmi's brain shifted into gear. It made a grinding sound. "Well, at the moment I'm being threatened by a rather large black wolf and a woman with a blade that's glowing... black, which kind of seems like its against the rules of--well nature. However, before that I was looking for someone. He's not you, because he's a he, and... goes by the name of Glimmer, at least on government applications." He chanced a glance from the wolf to the woman with the sword. "By the way what are you doing here, and you wouldn't happen to be Glimmer disguised, would you, because that would make my job a lot easier. "

Margaret looked him over, then looked at Luna and said "Anything off?" Luna sniffed and then licked the side of Jynmi's face. She paused, almost like she was thinking of what she tasted, then she shook her head and moved off of him, sitting by her master with her head tilted. Margaret sighed and put her blade away, holding out a hand to the man. "Sorry about that...most of the time we are on a case and someone wants to come in, most of the time they want to kill us or get something from us"

After she helped him up she shook her head. "No, I'm not Glimmer. I am actually looking for him as well. A client of mine asked me to find him, fearing he was in danger. She is a seer so I take her information to heart...why do you have interest in him?"

"Oh no worries." Jynmi said, taking the offered hand. "Happens all the time. The important thing is that nobody, with emphasis on myself, ended up with any new holes on their person, or clothes. God, the amount of money wasted on clothes is a shame. Anyways, where was I?" He dusted himself off and looked around the room. "Oh yes. As for Mr. Glimmer, I'm working for a client too. Probably know less about the man than yourself, other than the fact he's enough of a person of interest for someone to be willing to cough up private investigator money. A bit of a surprise seeing someone else looking for him. Never had any competition on a case before."

He looked around, frowning like a fat man in a candy store right after swearing off sweets forever. "Sadly though, it doesn't look like we're the only ones that are after the guy." His frown deepened ever so slightly. "Someone else is too, and their way ahead of us." He turned his attention to the dog, or wolf, potential man mauler, whatever it was, and thought about how the dog took a few seconds to think over whether or not he was trustworthy. "You're pretty smart right? Smell anything odd?"

Luna looked at Margaret who nodded and Luna started to sniff around the room, then her tail went up by the window. She barked and Maggie walked over, bending over and with her gloved hand wiped her fingers on the still and sniffed the powder she found. "Interesting...its a powder on the window...magic based...but I don't recognize it"

"A magic based powder?" Jynmi didn't like the sound of that. He hurried over to where the woman and dog were standing, and took a closer look at the substance. "But it can't be." He mumbled. "But does it know it know that?" He leaned closer for a better look, making sure not to do any inhaling on the off chance he was right. "IT does look similar, the colors a bit off but those grains, and the way the light's bouncing off it.." He straightened up and rubbed his chin. "But the wardens had gotten the guy making it, and destroyed all the papers and every known sample, or at least that's what they should've done."

He turned to the woman and pointed at the stuff. "Do either of you know what threeEye was, because I'm pretty sure this is it, and if that's the case then there's a good chance our Mr. Glimmer may not be the good guy in all of this." He turned and started towards the door. "I'm heading to the factory, you two can come along if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it because this stuff is dangerous."

Margaret stared and said "three eye? This guy was making the vampire super drug? Great, no wonder the seer sent my after him, he could hurt a lot of people with that stuff...but this stuff looks different...he must have made a new blend..." She stood and nodded to Luna who headed for the door. "We better go with you, the more the better"

"There's strength in numbers." Jynmi said, nodding to the woman as he opened the passenger's side of the Frankenstein. He went around to the other side, and started the car's, engine, or at least tried to. It turned the key over a few times, and the engine didn't even mumble, much less roar to life. "Uhm. One second." He got out of the car, and kicked the vehicles front end a few times before getting back in, and started the car, which came back to life with a groan. "Okay. Let's go." He put the car in drive.

"So." He said, behind the wheels. "I'll take it your somehow associated with the white council, or how else would you know about threeEye?"

Maggie looked around the car, a small smile on her face. When asked about the drug she said "I have friends on the council, but I know it about more because a friend of mine needed help getting it out of his place of business...it took a lot of work and a nasty fight at the end but I got it taken care of for him..." She rolled her neck, Luna sitting in the back with her head out the window. "I believe I forgot to introduce myself...Lady Margaret Shade. And my partner back there is Luna. Her father and I work together normally but his away on a job so he asked if I would take care of Luna for him"

She looked at the wizard next to her and asked "And who might you be?"

"The names Jynmi." He said, taking a left. "And there's not much to tell really. Awhile back the white council got me confused with the guy who was actually making the stuff. Can't remember his name for the life of me. It was just one long series of misunderstandings." Jynmi sucked his teeth in frustration. "So a guy accidentally finds himself at an orgy and he's a target for every warden in the tri-state area. I didn't even get to touch anyone and people were blasting me with everything from frozen of ice to electric balls of death. Long story short I managed to prove my innocence with a couple of well placed looks in the eyes. After that I helped out the guys that were trying to kill me and he got put down."

Another right, and there it was, the old abandoned building. "Here it is. Let's check it out."

Margaret got out of the car and looked at Luna. "Wait out here, Luna. I might need you to run from out here in case we run into anything unpleasant" Luna barked and Maggie started up the stairs to the front door saying "So what will we find here, Mr. Jynmi?" She reached the door and waved her hand over it, a silver mist appearing.

After a moment she said "A lot of people have been thru here recently...funny for a empty building"

"I'm not sure. It's been awhile since the last time I was here, and since then the wardens were supposed to have cleared the place out of anything super natural, but last time the warehouse used to be a packaging plant of some sort. The only place there was really anything juicy was in a secret basement right beneath the one that the general public knew about." Jynmi dusted the dirt off the back of his shirt. No matter how many times he cleaned the vehicle there was always dirt waiting on the driver's seat to sully his clothes. "You've got a point there." He pointed at the various footprints leading in and out of the various entrances. "But empty and abandoned are two different things." He headed towards the nearest entrance. "But there's no point in standing around trying to guess what's going on. Let's have a look inside."

Inside Jynmi stopped to gave the place a whistle. "Well this is a lot more creepy than I remember." He pointed at the various symbols carved into the walls. "These, I'm guessing, aren't your every day gang sign. I get the feeling there's magic flowing through them so watch out."

Maggie nodded following him down the hallway. "Demon signs...at least signs someone wanted a demon to notice...this could be more then just Three Eyes..." She walked into the main room with the machines and sniffed. "Fresh oil...someone has been running at least a few of these machines...but why? Three Eyes wouldn't need these kind of machines..."

"Damn. I hate demons, but what's worst than demons? I mean, what could connect threeEye and demons?" Jynmi scratched his chin as he looked around. "I wonder if their doing more to people than just granting them the ability to see things? Whatever was going on here was definitely heavy duty. Come on. Let's check out the basement. If there's anything sinister, I mean more so that demon signs, we're going to find it in the basement." He walked down a few flights of stairs until he got down to the last level available to them. "Okay. Which one was it? God it seems like it happened forever ago." He started tapping walls until he touched on one that responded with a hollow sound.

He put his staff back in its sling and touched the wall with his hand. "Last time I did this there was a trap that almost killed me. I don't want to make that mistake again, ever, for as long as I lived, because that shit hurt." He took a deep breath and let his senses move into the wall. "There's something there, but I don't think its a trap. Could be wrong though. It wouldn't be the first time. Hell, it wouldn't be the seven hundredth and forty third time."

"I wanna try something." As if by magic, and not just that he'd gotten so used to the need for chalk he could have it materialize in his hands at a moment's notice, and he started drawing a circle on the wall.

Maggie followed him after drawing the images on the wall, thinking she had seen them somewhere before. When they reached down stairs and he started drawing the circle Maggie started muttering softly and the space started to fill with silver mist. She waited till she was done and said "Just in case...this mist should stop anything really nasty coming out of there. Knowing our luck it could be a store room for the Three Eye...and I would rather not get that in my system thank you"
