@Raijinslayer I've actually looked a lot into toucans as a pet ever since I met one, and I can't say I haven't ever found them sorta weird. But now? Now I just see sweet feathered dorks. Especially Aracaris. I'd lie if I said I didn't like those guys better than Toucanets or Toucans, which I probably couldn't ever afford anyways.
It's weird how I never really though of my pets as exotic. Birds have just sort of been with me since forever. Honestly, I feel sort of odd handling mammals, because they don't have that same fragility as birds and since I handle them as if they were so fragile I feel like they overpower me, I find their body language hard to recognise and understand, and though I love furry friends just as much as scaled or feathered or any other covering, I just don't think I'd ever be comfortable having one. So no way to foxes or wolves. ^ ^"
Lizards, though...I had two friends named Kiki and Lexi and their apartment was FILLED with all sorts of reptiles, including about five bearded dragons, three snakes, turtles and some other lizards. And a cat. One singular cat named Onyx. Anyways, I loved all the animals there, but I had a particular fondness for one of the bearded dragons there named Tink. She was a real silly sweetheart and really loved being on my shoulder, and in a way I guess that reminded me of my birds, since most loved to hang out there. And then our art teacher has a bearded dragon as well and he's a real silly dork. And she used to have a leopard gecko who was always so curious about everything and everyone, but he passed away sadly. I'm also pretty found of corn snakes but I've rambled too long.
Anyways, long story short: Love scaley and furry friends, but would totally choose scaley over furry, just because I feel more comfortable around them.
