@Aisling "That probably is true," the father said. "What supports this thesis is that about three million years ago, all of our ancestors used to live on the same continent: Africa. So, technically, they were living together, which increases the chance that they had similar beliefs."

"I see.... So how did all of these continents form? Was there some kind of an earthquake or something?" Mystique asked.

@Aisling "Similar," Ioan answered. "There used to be one big land mass made out of different parts that sticked together - we call them the continental plates. Those parts are constantly moving due to processes in the inner of the Earth: Very slowly, so that we don't notice it without measuring, despite when there's an earthquake. But over the millennia, this movement was sufficient for the continental plates to get where they are at now."

"Did the biologists or cosmologists come up with this theory? I have heard of that a long time ago in a class but haven't thought much about it since passing the class." she asked.

@Aisling "Plate tectonics or common religion?" the father asked. "Plate tectonics was the geographers and common religion is my own thesis."

"I was actually talking about Plate tectonics. There were a lot of theories beside religious ones discussed." Mystique spoke with a bit of smile.
"Biologists had some guy named Darwin but I haven't really understood his theory at all."

@Aisling "Let me give you an example," the father said. "At the beginning, there's only one kind of bacteria. The bacteria of this kind replicate constantly, but those replications don't always work well: A part of the 'baby bacterium's' DNA is different from its parents' DNA. This difference gives the baby bacterium an advantage over its parents, let's say in getting food. That causes the baby bacterium to live longer and thus have more 'children' than its parents. The type of bacteria the parents were will eventually die out; the bacterium has evolved."

"But there are many kinds of species of plants and creatures out there. How does one know for a fact that this and that came from another one, ect....."

@Aisling "That's a bit difficult. It has got something to do with blood and DNA tests," the father answered.

"Testing various species to see what kind of genetic pattern exists in each species?.... That would be a lot of testing and time in getting the samples." Mystique spoke.

@Aisling "I'm not a biologist, after all..." the father said. "I'm not so sure about how exactly it is done."

"I wish we would hear about Toma and his progress......" Mystique sighed.

Fiona wheeled herself up to Mystique.
"Mommy, may I see my wand, please? I wish that we could have shopped more but I wanted to be here with Toma and I can't even see him."

"I know, dear. I am worried about Toma like you are but there is nothing at this moment anyways." Mystique spoke as she took the box out and handed it to Fiona.

"Thank you Mommy. At least I can look at it." she said as she opened the box.

@Aisling Another three hours went by until a doctor came. "Your majesty?"
Dracula stood up from the floor. "Yes?"
"You can see your son now," the doctor said. "He's in the PICU, room 120."

@Aisling "You can come with me if you want..." Dracula was still weak this day, but he was standing on his own two feet.

@Aisling "Why don't we take her with us? We could buckle her up in her wheelchair and just let her sleep in it," Ioan suggested.
"Could we go now?" Dracula asked, a bit annoyed.

@Aisling "Good." Dracula led the way to the room.
As they entered it, Toma was still unconscious. He was breathing smoothly and heavily.
Dracula carefully put on Toma's oxygen mask and raised the head end of his electric bed to make breathing a bit easier for him. "My poor little boy..."

Mystique stood there and simply watched. As she watched she felt a pain in heart. The pain of an anguished bystander who could do nothing for a sick child. It was hard for her to look on Toma and The Count who was so obviously in great pain both in himself and for his little son.
