"Alright, fine," Kutur resigned as he opened up his map. It was a bit early to stop, but he was tired. "We should be here," he declared, pointing at one place on the map. "Pitar is here, and where I'm going, Ling San, is here," he said pointing to two other places. "Alright, let's get moving."

Arjun followed Kutur's lead. "So, do you think we'll find any other kobolds on the way there? Or maybe some at the inn? We have enough for a night's stay there, right?"

Kutur paused, stopped, and hurriedly patted all the pockets he had on him. Then, to his relief, a jangling noise sounded out from his coat. "Kobolds? Maybe. I don't recall reading anything about any tribes settling this far east. But travel has never been easier."

"Maybe we'll find some other kobold travelers. And maybe some of them will be female. And pretty. Very pr-... oh, you know what I mean." Arjun replied. "Let's just get there."

"Well, there it is," Kutur announced, after staying uncharacteristically silent for a long length of time and even longer stretch of land. He took out two concave bits of glass, and positioned them so that a further away piece was caving towards him and the closer one was caving away. This made the roughly 3 miles away Pitar appear much closer. "Neat trick, eh? And no you may not touch them. It takes forever to get them clean."

Pitar was bustling with life. The streets were crowded with garishly dressed men and women dancing down the street. Kutur squeezed through the tight mass of people into an inn. "We'll have a three bed room, please," he requested to the innkeeper, setting down a small bag of coins.

"Three beds? But there's only two of us" Arjun replied. "Why three? And does it really take that many coins to pay for it?"

(I am assuming that we're the only two players left, so only two characters).

"It's cultural," Kutur explained. "Innkeepers give 1 less bed than you ask for, replacing it instead with a smaller one for protective spirits to sleep in your room. That's why they look at you weird if you ever ask for only 1."

Kutur grabbed the keys from the innkeeper, thanking him in eastern common. At least he hoped it was "thank you". It could also have been "I like toast". He then turned his head to face Arjun. "One of us should go up to the room, the other is going to stay here and haggle price. Be forewarned, these people are extremely aggressive about getting your money."

"I'll check the room out" Arjun replied. He went upstairs, being careful not to trip on his tail. The steps were clearly designed for a creature far larger than himself, so climbing them was not as easy as it should have been.

Kutur grumbled under his breath. He had hoped Arjun would handle the negotiating stuff, because he was the merchant and by Scen these easterners were good at haggling.

"Alright, how about we say 7 silvers?" Kutur suggested to the inkeeper.

"Oh, noings, you is makings of me the bankrupt! Also, what you mean by 'I like toast'?" he responded.

" . . . 2 gold and 9 silvers. Final offer," Kutur mumbled tiredly.

"Yes! Yous of my good friend! Very generous!" Exclaimed the innkeeper. Kutur silently cheered, knowing it was over. He handed over a small handful of coins and plodded up the stairs on numb feet to join Arjun in the room.
