Back on the Black Pearl, on a sunny morning, some of the recruits have been fastening the ropes as well as scrubbing the deck. Awake early, like every captain should, Killian has been looking over the upper deck at his working recruits until he made a sigh of boredom. Deciding to descend down the stairs, his hand with the one ring suddenly collided into something that was other than wood. Making a thinking face, the pirate looked where his hand was submerged, seeing a hole in the rail that connected the stairs to the lower deck. Feeling around, Killian gripped the strange object and pulled, revealing old sepia-printed papers. "Mister Fandral!", he called to his compatriot. Hearing his captain's call, he approached. "Captain?", the blonde dashing warrior asked. "Tell me what you see", Killian told him as he unfolded the paper for him to see.

Loki had not exactly slept well in worry for Legolas about what happen the night before, wondering what had happened to cause him so much pain. Walking up to the deck while holding the compass within his hands, hearing something upon the deck, the raven haired Jotun goes to check it out. Seeing Killian and Fandral, Loki walks toward them as he stops beside Killian, looking over toward the source of this small gathering, Loki notices the papers. He then starts to analyze them carefully as Fandral spoke out. "These are signed by Lord Algrim!" He said suddenly realizing the name of which is signed on the papers. Loki nodded. "Indeed, signed by the hand of the Lord himself." Loki added.

Killian kept the paper in view for the two men to see it, and he made a disgusted, revolted face after hearing that it was signed by the lord himself. "Agh", he simply responded in a disgusted manner. "Captain, while we were in the Dwarven realm, my ears keep picking up words that go with this: chest and compass. They're after your navigating device, captain", the warrior concluded to his leading comrade while crossing his arms. "A truly discomforting notion", the captain muttered aloud, not really showing any worry to the tone of his voice. "If the Dark Elves get the chest, they will control the seas", the warrior added to him. "Bad. It's bad for all of us. Brace the foreyard!", he shouted before walking away. "Hmm", Killian simply said to himself, thinking.

Loki nodded. "Indeed. I did hear something about the Dwarves speak about a chest." He confirmed, looking down at the papers to try and see what it says. He though saw Fandral walk away from them, only looked back to the papers once more.

"If you uphold something, you uphold it with honor. Do it constantly, you get more of it", Killian mumbled before holding the paper in front of him. "Yet I'm the one standing here with a prize", he began to read from the papers aloud. "Full pardon, commission as a privateer on behalf of Asgard and the hand of Lord Algrim", he read before folding it. Unknown to him, Eomur was listening on the conversation while he was leaning against one of the ship's pillars. "As if I could be bought for such a low price", Killian added to himself after folding the paper for the third time. He extended his coat and placed the paper in one of its inside pockets.

Loki heard Killian's words, wondering what in the nine realms was this man mumbling about. She had to admit that he was rather strange in the head most of the time. Seeing him fold the papers and place them inside his pocket, the Jotun gave the man his attention. "Killian. I want the letters in order to see them." Hiding the fact that he had plans for those papers.

Killian heard Loki, but he didn't acknowledge to his request. In other words, he ignored him. "No", the captain simply said in a slight pout, before turning his back to the Jotun. "Persuade me", he told him before tucking in his coat a bit more, crossing his arms across his chest.

Loki watched Killian as he had not seemed to have acknowledged him, such was started to irritate him. Though once he was denied and told to Persuade him, Loki raised a brow as Killian tucked the letters in his coat more and crossing his arms. Loki raised his shoulders, having to where they were inches from the other. "Eric showed me how to use a blade." Though granted he was skilled with it and a staff. He liked his daggers. His eyes showed his irritation toward the man.

Looking at the Jorun appearing before him again, the pirate's facials haven't changed. "As I said", he began to say. "Persuade me", Killian told him again before turning on his heel, and walking away to the tail of the ship.

Loki could not believe this man. How could this happen? This was not how it was to go and with the fact that Killian was refusing him to see the papers that he wanted to see, huffed a sigh, his emerald eyes still with a fixed glare toward the pirate, stormed away in a graced fashion. He could no believe that this was turning out the way it did and now he as he walked down the steps, stopped at the bottom and sat down, not wanting to go anywhere else. He pondered to himself about his lover and the most horrible things he must be enduring, losing the glare he had to a sad, somewhat lost look, his face showed concern.

Bard was just strolling along the deck by the rail, until he saw the young Loki pondering to herself at the ship's tail stairs. If he was honest to himself, he was quite fond of the Jotun, even though he doesn't know true nature nor free to another. Dissapointment, yes, but did he care? No. He didn't care if this young lad was already taken, but regardless, he found Loki to be a possibly trusted comrade. Just knowing that Loki looked troubled in his grief, the pirate "captain" approached him casually, yet cautiously. Just casually setting himself down next to him, Bard was just looking at him, analyzing. "My intuitive sense of a creature tells me that you are troubled", he observed.

Startled at first by the voice that bring him from his thoughts, the Jotun glances over toward the source to notice that Bard had, probably not long ago, had noticed the gloomy state that he was in and came over to sit with him, rather Bard actually cared about the Jotun was beyond him but right now, maybe someone to talk to wasn't such a bad idea. He would honestly rather be better off talking to his mother about this source of sorrow and concern, but since she wasn't and Bard was the one who asked, Loki thought it couldn't hurt. With a small sigh and the sag of his shoulders, released his troubles before the Pirate.

"I feel I would have been reunited with Eric by now. I should not have left his side." Admitting his concerns and worry for his lover, and felt he had every right to be. Hearing about this Hades and how cruel he was, left him worried as he was. He felt powerless, just like the day the raid upon Asgard happened...

Holding his gaze to Loki, he was told that the Jotun missed his partner. Bard knew exactly how that felt, only that the young lad was deeply saddened and lonely. Finally turning his gaze away from him, Bard reached into a pocket within his coat, and pulled out a glass bottle of rum out. Taking off the cap, he presented the drink to the Jotun, quietly asking him if he needed it. To tame his sorrow.

Loki noticed movement beside him, glancing to whom he could possibly call friend though seeing the man pull a bottle from his jacket and offer it to said Jotun would be consider a friend. Loki however looked at the bottle a moment having accepted it. he sniffed the contents to learn it was run, but took a swig anyway, his face twisted a little, not use to the taste of it. But it was better than sea water so there was no complaining from him. After his swig of the rum, he gave the bottle back to Bard and nodding to him in thanks.

Just by watching the Jotun before him, Bard noticed that he wasn't a big fan of a sailor's favorite drink. Not that he could blame him at all. Loki wasn't a sailor nor a traveler, for that matter. He didn't want to get into the Jotun's personal space, so he quietly took the bottle back when Loki gave it to him. It was slightly awkward now, and Bard had to break the tension. "Look", he began softly, only for Loki to hear. "Don't let any negativity get to you here. Believe me, I've had my fair share of sailing these waters. Although, there will always be a break in a crew sooner or later. Take Killian, for example", the pirate gestured with his head to Jones' direction in the distance.

Loki felt the tension that was building between them but made no move to change it. He didnt know how when he didnt know why Bard had come to his side. Though with it broken by Bard, the Jotun looked to him while be comforted in the odd way that Loki saw it. Though on the note of Killian of being an example, he looked to the one being talked about, giving the man a slight glare though looked to Bard with curiosity. "How so, if you do not mind me asking." Loki wondered what Bard would tell about the loony pirate.

Hearing the Jotun have a hint of curiosity in his voice, Bard just knew that the lad was quietly eager. Looking back to Killian for a second, he began to say so. "Jones once had an honest streak in him back then. An honorable, and a fairing captain, he was. Had a whole crew to himself, including me. Now, I was once his first-mate, trusted and promised to have an equal share", he trailed off before his voice lowered. "But that was where the whole problem began", he added.

"We were forty days out at sea, and I come to him saying that everything's an equal share, that should mean the location of the island, too, though Jones refused. That night, there was mutiny", the pirate paused. "We marooned him on an island, and left him to die. But, not before he went mad with the heat", he rolled his eyes at the thought.

Loki studied Bard as he told the tale of Killian in their early days. Watching the man become engrossed in the short tale and what happened. Listening the tone difference. He was surprised of the turn but guessed that was what happened when deals were broken between two pirates or at least between the Captain and its crew. Granted this was only what they did to Killian. But I guess it explained his streak of insanity and lack of trust of others. "So how did Killian manage to escape the island?" Wondering how he managed it. He couldn't fathom how he could have done it.

Hearing Loki ask the pirate on how Killian escaped, Bard looked back to Jones in the distance for a moment, before turning to look back at the Jotun. Leaning in close for only him to hear, he finally said so. "If you believe in such things, young Loki...", he paused for a second. "It was mermaids", he finished before leaning back into his previous position.

The Jotun looked curious, still though noticed that Bard leaned in toward him. He had no idea what to really do in this type of situation, Loki was soon told about how Killian somehow escaped that island. Loki's green eyes widened at this news. He didn't know if it was somehow true in its own right, but this made him look at Jones from where he sat. He knew about Mermaids, but wondered how that managed to happen.
