Yeah, she's just there- and no way she could get out of his grip, not when a flailing and screaming horse couldn't. Unless she stabbed him, which would result in either the blade skittering across scale, or breaking scale and driving into his muscle, which would probably tighten his grip even more (while being a friendly dragon, he's still a liiiittle mad, and might react unpredictably).

Okay, so Eliesmier speaks with thought, for the most part, and can't physically speak as a dragon, which means that he'll have some form of telepathy.
I was just considering the notion that, upon using his mind to look into hers, he would've seen her- oh, she'll be snarky and cold and stubborn, but he, right from the start, knew that she was much less cold inside.
Or not.
