Mass Effect: Mercenaries

The year is 2173, a notable amount of time has passed since humans entered the Galactic community through it’s typical fashion of going to a new world and that is through the act of war - albeit for once the blame was not entirely their own.
Citadel space is regarded as the safest space in the entire galaxy, for obvious reasons namely the Citadel fleet that patrols it, but the further you get from this space the more nomad like it gets where every blot of the inky darkness is as dangerous as the next - it is a place owned by pirates and marauders and, of course mercenaries.
As you find yourself on the opposite side of the Galaxy oddly enough you find what could only be described as the the anti-citadel.
A massive space station that is the complete and utter opposite of the one that governs the majority of advanced sentient beings - whereas one is the hub of democracy and government, another is a hub of debauchery and crime - but both symbolise power.

Omega, the home of the Mercenary.

It is here where 3 rival groups of Mercenaries fight for control; The Blood pack - made up of the mighty Krogan and the barely intelligent; but extremely deadly Vorcha nothing says brawn over brain like this group with its packs of Varren and practically unkillable foot soldiers.
Next is the Eclipse- and whilst they are more prominent in other place rather than Omega, they are nevertheless vying for control on this husk of an asteroid.
They specialise in tech, having unparalleled strategists and technicians and extremely powerful biotic commandos that can tear through legions of soldiers in mere moments.
Comprised of the beautiful Asari and the analytical Salarians they use hordes of cheap and expendable mechs to whittle down the enemy defences whilst they bombard them from afar with powerful abilities.
And finally there is the Blue Suns, the middle of the other two groups - they have moderate strength in their units but also carry the potential of biotics and tech users - they are comprised of Turians, Batarians - and now Humans.
They are the closest of the three to actually being a private army, their training and use of command and tact has made them powerful foes, as well as this their equipment that is handed out to the mercs seems to be far superior to that of their foes ties to the black market and ownership of weapon producing facilities has made them a force to be reckoned with - they have the most influence and use it well to make up for their lack of raw strength.
They win battles because their enemies weapons jam and theirs don’t, they win because they had more thermal clips than the enemy, because their commander used the battlefield to their advantage - all these things are what make the Blue Suns make their ground.

It is because of their intense rivalry that they have begun a new wave of recruitment, they are hoping to acquire new blood in preparation for a new war that may end up deciding both the fate of Omega and of course the mercenary group that comes out on top.
The recruitment list is as follows.

The Blood Pack

The Blood Pack is looking for only two races in it's recruitment drive - these are the Vorcha and the Krogan; they also allow anyone whom happens to have a Varren in their possession to take it along with them.
This group specialises in close quarters and favours the use of Incendiary powers and equipment - the weapons that are commonly used amongst the group are shotguns and assault rifles, as well as this they outfit their soldiers with Heavy weaponry such as the M451-Firestorm and the ML-77 Missile launcher.
They are also the only group of the three that hands out Claymore shotguns to their best units.

The Blood pack pays well and has the guarantee to offer the most bloodshed out of the three groups, their soldiers are all experienced and battle hardened and all have a taste for blood, it's difficult to find a brotherhood in these ranks, but the brutality of your actions will quickly earn you respect.
Also carries the highest mortality rate of the three groups - Fuck strategy, they focus only on getting close to the enemy and killing them; preferably with as much mess as possible.

The Blue Suns

The Blue suns is the most diverse group of the three, it allows Turians, Batarians and Humans into it's ranks, they especially look out for Biotics and Tech specialists as they are extremely useful to the Blue suns way of combat.
They use every type of weaponry and have a place for anyone whom can use a specific type of weapon within their ranks
, although they majorly use Assault rifles to get any real legwork done.
The Blue suns typically use anything that disable or harass the enemy, they commonly use Disruptor rounds and their techs employ skills like Overload and Sabotage to disrupt the enemy.
Their combat style revolves around this - their goal is to reduce the the effectiveness of their foes to make cutting them down with their advanced weaponry an easier task.
The best weaponry handed out to some of the best Mercs in their group is enough to make the Blue suns seem very powerful and seem like the likely choice to pick.
But this is not always the case - the diversity in their ranks happens to be three races that have a mutual hate for each other.
Humans hate Turians, Batarians and Turians hate humans and Turians hate them both for being equally weak and pathetic.
There is a lot of animosity in their ranks and trying to keep them from turning their guns on one another mid-fight is no easy task, despite this they have a very military structure and are generally well prepared for every fire fight.

Eclipse

And then there is the Eclipse, these are comprised of Salarians, Asari and Humans; although humans are new to their ranks they only started recruiting them last year.
These are without a doubt the most powerful of the three, at least individually, they have exceptionally skilled Tech specialists and powerful biotics within their ranks - taking the small fry out may be easy, but that means you have yet to deal with their most powerful soldiers, whom employ barriers and advanced shielding technology to protect themselves, then they unleash their devastating skills that can cripple and outright kill targets whose shields have failed them.
Whilst they are reliant on their Mechs to do most of the work, especially as acting as shields, they're cheaper than Mercs and will willingly go into battle without arguing.
Each side has it's own strngeths and weaknesses and they make their gains through other means - a battle will rarely decide the fate of one group - but the prelude to a battle can.

Freelance

Of course, one of these groups need not have you, some races may wish to do mercenary work and not be restricted to certain rules and regulations that restrict them.
They can still work for these groups but in their own group, or by their self . Aria T'loak is another big entity on Omega who can give work to those Mercs who need it, but the rule still applies - "Don't fuck with Aria." Abide by that and you should be alright.

Freelancing of course comes with disadvantages, namely it isn't very safe, and at the same time it might be - you aren't a target and you don't wear the colours of any group - but you don't have that protection - anything can come knocking at your door and kill you; it is Omega after all.
Expect the unexpected if you choose the loner life.

And that is the premise ladies and gents, following is a list of rules and such.

Available races: Turian, Human, Asari, Salarian, Krogan, Vorcha, Drell, Hanar, Batarian and Volus.
Please note that Hanar and Volus require you to submit your CS via pm and I'll decide whether or not it is sufficient; it will require a very well developed bio to excuse their race.

Weaponry and Armour: Standard equipment that is dished out upon joining which includes basic armour and a standard shield generator - all groups use assault rifles and pistols you will be handed with an M-3 Avenger and a M-3 Predator; The pistol is replaced by the M-5 Shruiken if you join the Eclipse.
Of course you can have your own equipment before joining - but I won't be seeing anything that is specialised or advanced, better weapons will be handed out as the roleplay goes on.

Payment: You're mercs, and you get paid for doing jobs, after each job is completed you will be paid a number of credits you can save credits to do a number of things in Role play or to improve your guys gear, certain situations may arise where credits can save you a hard time, you just have to decide whether or not you should spend them on making yourself tougher, or to buy your way into places.
Choose wisely.
(A list will be provided when the Rp starts on how many credits are required to go to the shop.)

Leaders I need some people to lead the Merc groups on Omega, I'm taking the role of Blue Suns leader which leaves the roles of Eclipse leader and Blood pack leaders available - the leaders of these groups will automatically be assigned the roles of Co-Gm as they will help me form the plot.
These roles will be available later on.

And of course the standard rules of the guild apply, I don't need to say them; at least I hope I don't - put this way If I have to outline a rule to someone, then that someone won't be in this roleplay.

Anyway, I hope this is sufficient, and below this is the CS.
Looking forward to working with you all ^_^

So are we actually going to be picking a class? or will the classes be more loose? For example if I picked vanguard is that actually going ot limit my weapon selection and some of my abilities or is it more of a loose concept of my character being a biotic shock trooper for his faction?

obviously I wouldn't be a tech master as well. but will it severely limit the biotic abilities I can learn? and the weaponry I can use?

@OllumhammersongSorry about that, got a lot on at the minute - and yes you may pick a class - although this does not restrict you weapon wise, use what ever weapon you wish.
It does, obviously restrict you ability wise, but I don't have to explain that to you - it's common sense.
