Liam quickly looked at the Krabby. He gave the trainer a Max Revive and some medicine. "Give these to Krabby and let it get some rest." Liam said. He hurried after Shiranui. Liam wondered what Pokémon it was that seriously hurt that Krabby.
Liam caught up and began to look. He didn't see any Pokémon or humans around. "It must be hiding." Liam commented. As he stepped forward, A figure leapt from behind a rock and nearly smashed Liam's arm with an Iron Tail. It was a Charmander. "I bet this is what that kid was talking about." Liam said. "Jiriya!" The Greninja emerged. The Charmander tried to use Iron Tail to strike Jiriya in the head. Jiriya used a Power up punch to the Charmander's gut. It was on the ground stunned by how swiftly the air was knocked out of it. Liam grabbed a Luxury Ball and tossed it at the Charmander. It was sucked in and it began to wiggle as Charmander tried to break free.
The ball pinged shut. Liam walked up and collected the ball. Liam went to the nearby Pokémon Center. Liam altered his team to give space for the Charmander and handed Charmander, whom he nicknamed Smaug and Jiriya over for healing.
Liam sighed. "Smaug return" The Charmander side stepped the beam. He than turned around and pulled on the bottom of his right eye and stuck his tongue out at the heroes. He ran off further into the cave. Liam decided to run after him, now using a flash light.
There was a frightened cry of "Charr!" In the distance. Liam found that Smaug was being attacked by a swarm of Zubat. Liam lunged into the swarm, and began to swat them away.
Smaug noticed that Liam had jumped in to protect him. The Charmander started to respect Liam a little. "Are you alright Smaug?" Liam asked. "Char" Smaug said curtly.
"Well, the more I see of Smaug, the more I think that he has had a troubled past." Liam said. "While it doesn't make how he's acting alright, it make it understandable as to why he does act that way."
