Zelriane narrowed his eyes and turned away from Jenso. The deep green glow was revealing of many things, including Jenso's most sensitive physical reactions to what he said. Although Zelriane couldn't read Jenso's mind, he was satisfied with the extent of his own words. The short man walked off, heading towards where Rajaka had gone.

~ Chapter 60 ~

Pregame


Jenso had been told briefly by a few passerby that the finals would not occur until later in the day. Something about tradition, and the moon. Until then, he had to wait. He knew nothing about Rajaka, but it was safe to assume that the fight coming up was going to be difficult. Something about the entire tournament reeked of suspicion, though. The healing tent was shut off, Ross and Mikey were no where to be found, nor were any of the other fighters, and nobody seemed to be asking questions. Besides that, what the hell was the prize for the tournament? Nobody said anything about that, either.

Jenso frowned as as he sat within the tent, on a bench. He was trying to prepare himself for the battle with Rajaka. 'I'm not even sure if I'll be able to beat him...let alone two of them. But..' Jenso thought, and clenched his fists. 'I refuse to die here! I'll give it my all!'

"You sure did a number on Mikey," James said, entering the tent from Jenso's right, "I'm glad I didn't enter. There wasn't any way in hell I was going to beat anyone in this stupid tournament. All I've got going for me are my eyes." It was James, Mikey's friend who hadn't entered the tournament. The one with a weird eyes, and tall, thin body frame.

Jenso's eyes widened as James entered. "Oh...James, right?" Jenso asked with a smile. "Well, Mikey injured me pretty heavily too. I got lucky because the healers decided to heal me faster..." Jenso said, and paused for a moment. "Heh, don't feel bad about yourself. The world doesn't entirely revolve around strength. You realised that you wouldn't be able to win, and you didn't join. There's nothing cowardly about that. That just means you're smart enough to avoid pointless suffering." Jenso stated, as his smile vanished. "I'm going to fight the one who hit you with that cheap-shot earlier...and knocked you down. There's a good chance that I'm not going to survive, but...please, get Mikey and everyone else out of here while there's still time. You need to stay away from those two masked people."

"I know," James said curtly, "They're insanely powerful. I got that much. I can't properly see that short guy's Ki, and that Yellow guy's Ki is... Otherworldly. I don't feel bad about what I did, but you don't need to walk head-first into a slaughter either." James sat next to Jenso and nudged his side. "But those masked guys are the least of my concerns right now. I can't find Mikey or Charles anywhere."

"I need to fight them, James...If I don't, who else will? They run around, killing whoever they want...It's wrong." Jenso replied to James. As James mentioned that he couldn't find either Mikey or Charles, his muscles tensed up. "You..you can't?...Darn it, don't tell me that they..!" Jenso said, and hopped onto his feet. "A few of their allies abducted my friends...I hope they didn't do that to Mikey and Charles too!" He shouted in panic.

"I don't think so. I've been keeping an eye on the healing tent, and they haven't been anywhere near it. Something else had to have happened to them, but when I ask people, they always blow me off."

James looked at Jenso briefly, before nodding. "Be careful. I'll be here, if you find anything out."

As Jenso headed towards the tent, he made his way through crowds of fans who were anxiously waiting for the next fight. Many asked for autographs, while others questioned his abilities. It was difficult to make his way through the men and women, but the healing tent was in sight within minutes.

Outside the tent, the elf-like people were gathered around the white-robed man. It seemed they were discussing something important.

Jenso tried to sneak up to the elf-like people and tried to listen in on the conversation while trying to avoid being noticed. He used the mass of people to his advantage, trying to stand close enough while using the people as a shield to avoid being seen.

Suddenly, the black haired man's head perked up towards Jenso. He scanned the crowd carefully, looking for something, but didn't spot Jenso right away.

Jenso attempted to keep away from the man's gaze and walked along with the people towards the other side of the talking group of elf-like people, in a position where the figures of the other men that he was talking with would block out his field of vision.

The man shook the feeling of being watched from his mind and turned back to his colleagues.

"What is it, sir Sera?"

"Nothing. What of that Mikey boy and Ross? Their Auras are far more powerful than anything we've seen before. Can we do it?"

"The king thinks so. Within the next 24 hours, we'll have it. It will go to the victor, as it always does. Though, I'm not sure how it would affect them. We've never had this many people with so much.. Power, enter the tournament."

"Hmm.." Sera rubbed his face and nodded. "Don't tell the king that we won't need even a 1/100th of the potential power for our yearly offering. Perhaps it's time for us to make a move, now. This potential might be just what we were waiting for. He won't even see it coming."

Jenso glared at the men as they spoke. Some kind of nasty business was going on here. It sounded like these men intended to steal Mikey and Ross's powers, and possibly kill them for it. He clenched his fists as he considered to attack the men head-on. 'No...I need to find Mikey and Ross first.' He thought, and tried to make his way to the back of the healing tent. He tried to rip a hole in the cloth and enter from the back.

Jenso ripped a hole in the tent, but nobody was inside of it. It was empty, and there were no signed of secret exits, or anything. Suddenly the black haired man rushed in and spotted Jenso. "Jenso!?" He shrieked, "What are you doing to the tent??"

"Oh sorry, I uh...I got really hungry and I went on an eating rampage. I broke in here to see if there was any food!" Jenso explained to the man, calmly waiting for the man's response. There was no way that Jenso had any good reason to NOT use the main entrance, so he decided to joke around.

Sera looked at Jenso blankly before shaking his head. "That's nonsense! Get out!" He demanded as politely as possible, "We're very busy and we can't have you tearing the healing tent apart!"

Jenso dashed into the tent and stopped in front of Sera. "Tell me what you did with Mikey and Ross, or I'll kick your ass!" Jenso shouted, and got in a combat stance.

Sera backed away slowly and rose his hands in protest. "Excuse me? They're in the infirmary back at the castle! Where did you think we'd bring people who were gravely injured? They needed more attention!"
