As your mind was filled with depression. An orb of light appeared suddenly in your mind.
"Liz.. My child.. It is not late" You didnt want to open your eyes. It all seemed so real.
The unknown voice appeared yet again in your head.

"Fight back.. Fight back fight ba--.k" Like an echo, it ended and all that was left was the sound of the wind.

(This character sounds interesting but you need a cs in the ooc)

"I'm sorry about that," John said. His parents had died right before he ran off but they had always been close. He couldn't imagine them not wanting him.

"There are worse things." Liz stated. "In away it's good they sent me away. I can finally see and do the things I've read about. Do you know you're the first person I've talked to other then my parents? Unless you count the guards, but I don't."

John raised an eyebrow. "Really?" he asked, amazed. "Have you ever been outside your house even?"

"Nope. Spent most of my life locked in the basement." Liz replied as she opened her aparent door.

"Wow. Mind if I come in?" John asked, leaning against the door frame and smiling. It was nice to have a conversation with someone who wasn't a crazy anti normal activist.

"Of course come in." Liz invited. She was excited. She had made a friend! A connection. And he wanted to keep talking! Liz sat on the couch.

John came in and sat in one of the chairs. Wow her room was considerably more furnished than his. Though they probably assumed that after being on the run, he'd like a little more freedom with his room design. "This is a nice room. A bit more clothed than mine is," he said.

"It's nice because it is near the pool. I have always wanted to be near a pool. Im glad it had everything. i wouldnt knw what to put in a room beyond a bed, tv, and book cases. It makes it easier to dash out and change into a fish to swim."Liz explained. She hadnt looked at any of the other rooms.

John nodded. "So what did you do down in that basement for fun? I mean you had to have something?" John asked, hoping he wasn't prying to deep.

"I read alot or watched TV. Sometimes I would practice changing into different animals." Liz answered honestly. Her life had been simple, and for the most part she hadnt minded. She was looking forward to experiencing more.

"What was your favorite book?" John asked.

"That is a hard questions. I love so many that picking one is almost impossible. I would say that I love the paranormal books most. Anything that has beings that aren't human appealed to me." Liz thought the reason was obvious. "It was nice to think their might be others who were different. And now I get to meet and interact with some."

John nodded. "I was always more a fan of the classics. Frankenstein, Robinson Cruesoe, The Prince and The Pauper, you know?" John asked.

"I've read them. They were ok. I have a hard time connecting to books set in the past. I'm looking forward to going to school. I don't know what I'll study but I think it'll be great to be able to learn new things. Do you know what you do here?" Liz asked

"No idea. I've heard a bunch of different things though. When I was being transported here they mentioned a Mutant Squad. I think it was code name for something involving us." John said

"You mean like soliders?" Liz asked. "That would be cool. Helping people using our unique abilities. I wonder if everyone is enrolled or if it's optional."

Saphire sat down in her appointed quarters. She'd been here for ten years now. Like she'd expected, it was just another cage, if a more gilded one. People like her couldn't be allowed to walk free. She could feel it emanating from them all. Fear. Suspicion. Even hate. Nobody liked mutants, nobody wanted them, and anyone that believed anything else was a fool. She'd made them like her as much as she could, but she held no delusions. Even her powers couldn't change basic human nature, not without breaking people's minds. The doctors had been nice, and she'd cooperated with all their experiments. However, she'd downplayed her powers. She'd pretend to be woozy and tired when she wasn't even near her limit, and hid her abilities as much as possible. If her powers were what got her here, having more powers would be a bad thing.
Reaching out, she called out softly with her mind. Wiper, a large spider, crawled out from a small crack in the floor, crawling up her clothes and into her palm. Wiper liked her, that much she knew. It was a forged friendship, Wiper was her slave, but it made Saphire unreasonably happy. In her mind, she believed the spider to be her loyal companion, instead of a slave to her every thought, and they would surely make it through this together. Surely.
Smiling, Saphire reached out, as more and more spiders crawled from all over her room. Cockroaches, flies, bees, ants, mosquitos, they all came to her, covering her. She smiled, as they swarmed through her room, all in her mind, a single entity, with so many parts. Then, as easily as she had called the small army of insects, she sent them away, off to do their separate duties, watching the area, spread everywhere, extending her power. She had recruited birds, too, when she managed to get close enough. It made her feel strong, spreading her mind all over the complex. This was HER terrain. Even if it was a cage, it was hers, and she would not let anyone ruin it for her. She would rather die than submit to that nightmare again.
