Bruce listened closely to Jenso's answer, turning back toward the staircase once he finished.
"A noble cause." he said after a pause. He understood what losing a home and a community did to a person.

Jenso smiled at Bruce. "You know, my friend Jeff is searching for heroes to join his Heroes Guild in Tech-Mo. You seem like a strong and reliable person. I'm sure he'd be willing to let you join his guild, if you wanted too. They're working together to deal with the Order of Chaos, while dealing with other threats the city faces." Jenso stated, as the two headed up the staircase that led into the temple.

As the two found themselves deep in the recesses of the underground temple, the hall suddenly widened into a large room, with a pool of lava surrounding a single large platform in the center. It was a hop away, but there were no ledges on the smooth dome-like roof/wall combination. In the center, another pendant sat motionless, glistening brightly.

Bruce considered the offer. He'd never allowed himself to get too personally attached anywhere or to anyone until he'd met Luke. Jenso was quickly working his way into the ranks of people he'd consider a friend. And as much as Bruce appreciated what Luke did and the way he included him, he knew he wasn't a diver the way the other renegades were. Being a nomad came too naturally for him. A guild would let him have something like a community of his own peers again, or as close as he could imagine. His lips quirked up in a smile.
"I'll think about it," he said. "I might like that."

Jenso got a wide grin on his face as response. "Cool!" Jenso responded to Bruce, and turned towards the amulet on the large platform. He launched a flame whip at the amulet in the center. He aimed to wrap the end of the whip around the amulet, and yanked the whip twice. If it succesfully grabbed the amulet, it would reel the amulet in towards Jenso at great speed.

As soon as the amulet was yanked off its pedestal, several slabs fell onto the path that Bruce and Jenso took, closing off their exit, and threatening to crush them if they didn't move. Meanwhile, something began to bubble from below, surfacing slowly..

Jenso looked up at the slabs that fell down at him and Bruce. "Incoming!" Jenso shouted at Bruce, jumping out of the way of the falling slab. As he caught the amulet, he quickly revealed the bottomless bag from his pocket and put the amulet into it. He quickly put it away again, and locked his eyes on whatever was about to surface.

Bruce muttered to himself about the bridge, leaping backward to avoid the falling slabs. He reached out to touch one as soon as it cracked against the floor, ready to reform it into another platform in case they lost their remaining foothold. He eyed the mass that slowly rose up out of the lava.

The magma began to rise, slowly pouring off of a large, intricate face, detailed out of a strange red jewel-like material. As it became totally visible, Serpa-Mon let out a crackling hiss, akin to that of a rattle snake, and revealed its inner mouth, where several rows of fangs permeated into the center of its singular mobile jawbone. Its body was thin, snake like, feeding into the pool below them, where it stood, moving from side to side. Its eyes glowed orange, revealing its two cores, but it didn't seem to be as reserved about its weak spots as Arach-Mon had been.

Without warning, it lashed out, moving extraordinarily fast towards Bruce and Jenso with its clamp-like Jaw bared, thousands of tiny spikes acting as its teeth, capable of skewered every square inch of whatever was unfortunate enough to find themselves in its grasp.

Jenso glared at the beast as it lunged at him and Bruce. He launched a flame saw from his left hand at the snake's left eye and quickly dashed further to the right to avoid the beast's gaping mouth. He hoped the beast's own speed, along with the speed of his flame saw, would cause it to ram it's left eye straight into it.

Mirroring Jenso's movement, Bruce shifted the material of the slab he'd touched into a jagged, sharp boulder, hurling it toward the creature's right eye and sprinting in the opposite direction of Jenso to avoid its teeth. He let out a bit of his ki, ready to form a weapon if the creature chose to come after him.

Jenso's flame saw was faced with a great difficulty, insurmountable by the blade's sheer piercing power. As soon as it came within 5 feet of the Snake's body, it was dissolved, and sucked into its eye sockets in an instant. The snake crashed between the two of them, leaving a small crater where its teeth tore out a chunk of the room's floor. Bruce's stone barely missed the intricate, forward facing eye socket, leaving a small crack where it struck before shattering against the beast's body.

The snake pulled its tail out of the lava, lashing it over head and spreading the super-heated rock all over the battlefield. Wherever it might have landed, it left an ever-burning puddle that didn't dry immediately. But the farther it was from the snake, the cooler the lava seemed. It became obvious that this monster was keeping the magma burning hot. On top of that, Serpa-Mon radiated an aura of heat, albeit not significant enough to cause burns without sustained presence.

Serpa-Mon turned towards Bruce and lashed towards him, curling its body into a coil behind itself. The tip of its tail was strange though. As the ruby material shifted, a second, smaller head sprouted, and darted towards Jenso. This one had a single core-eye, and no teeth, instead wielding a pointy drill-like nose that spun fiercely.

Bruce jumped back toward the opposing wall to avoid the new assault by Serpa-Mon, touching the material of it with his fingers and breaking it down into a massive pile of sand. He redirected it toward the creature's open mouth, hoping to stall it for a few moments while he released a bit more ki. He let his energy take the shape of a new weapon, an oversized mace. It had less polish and its form sparked with less efficient control of ki, but it would suffice.

Jenso glared at the incoming tail and the drill upon it. He noticed the third core-eye. He feigned as if he was going to move to it's left in an attempt to fool it for a moment. Rather than doing so however, he ended up dashing to it's right side instead, to avoid the drill, and launched a flame dragon punch at it's eye-core. He made sure to avoid the super-heated rocks on the ground as he did.

Serpa-Mon~Dril Darted to the right to catch Jenso off guard, but when he changed position all of a sudden, it was too late for it to stop. The drill head struck the ground, and got stuck in the dense material, leaving a perfect Opening for Jenso to smash the entirety of its head to little pieces. It was surprisingly fragile, and in an instant, both the secondary head, and the core, was destroyed. A large portion of Serpa-Mon's body went dark, and fell to ash in the same moment.

Serpa-Mon's main head ended up taking a mouth-full of sand, crunching it down with a few disordered chomps. It melted into a fine goo, sticking to the inside of its jagged spike-pit of a jaw, and eventually slowing its chomps to a crawl, until its jaw didn't even have enough force to break stone. In this moment, the golem noted its tail being destroy, and flicked it head towards Jenso, darting towards him and flinging its entire snake like body around the battlefield, upsetting the lava puddles, and sending a spray of super-heated magma droplets towards Bruce. Serpa-Mon opened its jaw as much as it could manage, and sprayed Jenso with a torrent of flames.

Jenso glared at the beast's head as it came at him. He dashed further to the side in an attempt to avoid it's flames, prepared to touch them with the palms of his hands if needed in an attempt to cancel out the flames that were aimed at him. He tried to use his own arcane energy to cancel them out. After doing so, he launched a few fireballs into the air with his left hand, aimed so they would crash into the floor near the beast's head to create a smoke screen and blind it momentarily for Bruce to have an opening.

Bruce narrowly avoided the magma droplets with a sideways roll, stopping in a crouch and touching his hand to the floor. He took a breath, and produced another jagged boulder that he could carry in one hand, sprinting toward Jenso and the creature's head with his mace lagging behind him. Once Jenso's fireballs made impact with the floor, he lobbed the boulder at Serpa-Mon from the left side, hoping it would turn its head and expose the spot on its right where he'd managed to make a crack earlier. He hefted his mace back over his shoulder, ready to swing it down if the diversion worked.

Serpa-Mon ceased its spray of flames as soon as the smoke-screen started up, but didn't stop its assault on Jenso. It's like it knew exactly where Jenso stood, even in the smoke. It dashed forwards, avoided the small boulder that Bruce launched, and stopped a few feet in front of Jenso, pulling the length of its tail out of the smoke in a sweeping motion. It launched the remainder of the magma-puddles towards Jenso in an all-encompassing spray, making a simple dodge impossible, while also attempting to swipe him off the arena with its tail.

Jenso took note of the incoming magma, and frowned. 'Darn, I'm not sure if I can avoid this..!' He thought, slamming his fists together. A powerful shockwave of Ki erupted from them, intended to knock the magma away from him and possibly upset the snake's head. He crossed his arms afterwards, not being able to respond in time to deal with the incoming tail as he braced for the impact.
