Would a runescape-world based RP be possible at all?

I really want one, but to be honest I've never seen one function before.

If anything it'd just be set within the world with only gods and such being canon. Certainly before the new age with Guthix dead and such.

I don't want to put too much into this without any chance of people joining.

The setting could give some interesting stories, but what exactly would you want to do with it? When would you set it? Given that it's the setting of an MMO, there's so much that you could do that's fun, but just having the world doesn't mean much.

Like, a heist RPG about robbing, say, Varrock's bank? Stealing shit from the Kharidian pyramids? The God Wars? Wilderness exploratory groups? Surviving the plague in Ardougne?

It really boils down to what you wanna do.

Probably make it some sort or Hero's or Legend's guild quest gathering people from multiple fields of experience and backgrounds for an expedition of some sort? Maybe a mission involving a Mahjarrat? Zemouregal being a prime candidate.

Having a solid goal would definitely work. Can't really say much else on that. You'll also have to consider your player demographics and whether or not they're familiar with the setting of Runescape in depth. Balance accessibility with plot. I'd also say you're more likely to get more opinions with a more fleshed out plot summary at least.

Truthfully this check was simply to see if it would be worth the try to make a real interest check. You're right though I certainly ought to have something to show other than just the question of "is it possible?"

Yeah, a more fleshed out proposal would give a better indication of whether or not people would want to jump on the train, because more people'd stick to think about it. Also, dropping the int check in Casual where there's a larger demographic of players.
