Hair: Half long, brown, two thin braids in the front. Thick and coarse. Short beard.
Eyes: Light blue.
Height: Around 5’2. Don’t mention it.
Build: Short, but built like a brick shithouse. Corin is a warrior and it shows.
Dress style: In battle he likes his armor heavy and strong. Outside of battle he is quite fond of furs and classy garbs, but he can wear peasant’s clothes just as easily.
Powers: Summoning a sword, healing and summoning creatures to fight by his side.
Personality:- Assertive
Corin has absolutely zero issue with walking up to somebody. He is very confident, has a healthy ego and definitely doesn’t mind hearing himself.
This makes him a pretty social fella. In a bar he won’t hesitate to start conversation, even when he doesn’t know anybody, and he’ll probably have a pretty decent night, wherever he goes. - Provocative
It needs to be said that Corin often adjusts his behavior according to the person he’s talking to, but in many cases he likes to test somebody’s limits. Not even in a malicious way; Corin likes to poke fun.
Generally speaking; the more arrogant or stuck up someone presents themselves, the more fun it is for Corin to start teasing a bit. However, on the other hand; he tends to go easy on insecure people, because they tend to get under his skin a little. - Helpful
Despite having a big mouth, he’s not an asshole. It doesn’t take much to convince him to help someone, especially when the situation is a challenging on and he is a very hard worker when it comes down to it. - Sharp
He’s observant, perceptive. He might not always use that skill much, but generally speaking Corin is pretty aware of what’s going on around him. He also has a sharp tongue and likes to think along with people instead of sitting back and waiting. - Sensitive to power
If there’s one thing that Corin is easily tempted with - too easily - it’s power. He knows better, he knows he should just let it go and that more often than not an offer that’s too good to be true is exactly that, but the temptation is very, very strong. - Brave/reckless

But on the other hand; he is also easily challenged into doing reckless things even when knowing better and often doesn’t even really care what the consequences could be for him. He is very self-assured and it often just doesn’t occur to him that he could very well get into deep trouble.
He also craves that thrill, that adrenaline rush, that comes with the action.
His core values could be described as freedom, autonomy and justice. He wants to do what he feels is right, but in the end, of course, that is still just the judgement of one man.

Background:Corin is born and raised in High Rock in a very big mansion. He was born into nobility and came from a very rich family who had not started out as nobility, but ascended by gaining more and more influence. His father, Aldus Darbon, was a very successful merchant who valued wealth above most other things and sadly the man was also fairly corrupt. It was from this side of the family that most money came.
Aldus was born and raised in the city and never really had to worry much about safety; he had men for that.
Corin’s mother, Rosetta Mossdune, was a warrior. She too came from a good family, but one that strongly emphasized on fighting. They lived quite a bit away from civilization and it was a necessity to be able to defend yourself. Whatever your position, it didn’t matter; you needed to know how to handle a weapon.
This meant Corin got a balanced upbringing. Truthfully, his father didn’t want him to learn how to fight, as he considered that something for peasant, but he wasn’t able to sway his wife no matter what he tried.
Until his early teens, Corin was seen often with a girl named Helene, who was also from a more wealthy family and they got along fairly well. In the meantime his mother taught him how to wield a sword. She was strict, but just and he learned the arts of diplomacy from his father, who assumed Corin would take his place once he was older, even though Corin didn’t really feel like it.
He was outside a lot, got along pretty well with children from the less wealthy families and developed into a formidable swordfighter. A mage, a friend of his mother, taught him the basics of magic.
However, his father got overconfident and the corruption that had been in the family for a long time, was becoming more and more prominent. Rosette vehemently disagreed with it, but on this front she was the one who had little to say.
And so it all went South one night. Corin was only seventeen. In the middle of the night a maid woke him up and outside the alarms sounded. From his window he could see their guards fight unknown strangers.
He did not get the chance to armor himself. The enemy had already entered the house.
Corin hurried outside, where the armsmaster stopped him, dragging him into the shadows. His mother turned out to be fighting alongside the guards. His father had fled.
The armsmaster managed to drag Corin with him, away from the fight, knowing it was pointless now and that the least he could do was to save the boy, even though Corin himself did not agree with this.
His mother died that night. Along with almost everyone else. The mansion went up in flames.
The men now knew that one member of the Darbon family was still on the loose. Now that he had nothing left here, Corin could be persuaded by the armsmaster to just leave.
And so he fled into the night on horseback, with nothing more on his body than the clothes he wore that night.
Eventually he found a temporary place with a group of what amounted to bandits, though that might not be the best word. They were mostly hunters who simply didn’t take the rules too seriously. Rough lads, often clashing with other groups.
Corin had shaken off his previous identity for the time being and now he was known as Alain Travert. Nobody knew him around here and he soon rose in rank in the group. He realized, to his amazement, that this simple, pure and action-packet life fit him surprisingly well.
He stayed with these people for a few years. At first he hoarded most of the money he made, determined to return and to restore his family.
But the longer he lived the life of a traveler and a hunter, the further he seemed to get away from his old self and that offered perspective. He started to realize that the pain of loss was all that was dragging him back to that place, along with deeply wounded pride. And neither were think revenge was going to get back.
And so he slowly started to settle in this new life. He’d seen several countries and this way of living fit him. Despite the severe emotional blow he had suffered, he remained strong. He hid the misery and long, lonely nights with sharp humor and a lot of bravado and he made some very loyal friends among the hunters. In a way, the wilderness became more of a home than he could’ve ever dreamed it would.
But that too ended. Corin was twenty-one when his group - he was practically in charge by now - got a little too cocky. De fights between them and other groups became too big and the authorities stepped in. Some got away, Corin did not.
The ones that arrested him did not recognize him. Not too strange, of course; he was far away from home and had grown and changed significantly over the years. He had changed from a boy to a man, a warrior.
He was in jail for about a month, the kind where there wasn’t too much control, as long as you didn’t make any attempts at getting out and although he held on quite well, he felt more alone than ever.
After that month the traveling started back up again. Corin had a restlessness in him that he couldn’t place. In a way he had what he wanted; nothing to do with his father’s business and all the freedom he could dream of, but at what price?
He traveled along with people sometimes, did all kinds of jobs to get by and traveled from village to village. Through hearsay he finally found out that after he had fled, the men who had wiped out his family had been searching for him for months, but that by now no one really bothered anymore. He had successfully become a nobody.
Throughout the years he became a bit more wealthy again. He managed to get himself some decent gear and a high-quality sword. He studied for a while under a blacksmith, learning some essential things about weapons and armor.
He also became a lot more worldweary than he could’ve imagined he’d be. During his travels he encountered all sorts of things. Some were terrible and would follow him into the nights for a long time to come, and others were the kind of memories he’d hold dear forever.
He never reunited with his father. Sometimes that stings a little, because the man’s all the family he has left, but at the same time he blames him for a lot. He knows that Aldus would never have been able to make a difference in that battle, but that’s not the point. He had run while everyone was gambling their lives. That was the point.
He did reunite with the armsmaster a couple of times, who he had come to see as an old friend. The man had become prematurely old, but that made sense.
Currently he still travels a lot and he gets by through all sorts of jobs. He does mercenary work, but helps out on farms as well when he is staying in one place a little longer. He’s done bodyguard work in the past and isn’t above some courierwork either.
He’s gotten into trouble with a few bandit gangs. Some very small, some larger and wanting some payback.

Extra:- Has a horse he aptly just calls 'Horse'. Horse is not an easy fella to work with.
- Don't mention Corin's height too much.
- The people that wanted his family dead are a bit uneasy about the fact that Corin has bounced back a bit too well
