This war hasn’t been the first involving Gifted- the superpowered, the blessed, the cursed- as a species, as active participants using their powers for bloodshed.

Throughout history, there have been traces of humans talented with special abilities, capable of feats unachievable by the average man or woman. Prophets, creatures of lore, those blessed with incredible luck, or who could read people completely, or those regarded as magicians...Of course, many were unaware of these abilities, and those who did were either regarded as gods, or kept their secrets under lock and key in fear of the consequences. It was only recently- several hundred years ago- that they began to appear more frequently, with more intense powers, more obviously “special”.

The Gifted.

As with anything unique, tensions rose, with humans declaring the Gifted dangerous. Their children could easily be harmed by one with super strength, and robberies could become even more life-threatening when performed by a pyrotechnic. War soon broke out, the recorded beginning dating to around a century ago. However, this story is not about then.

Humans, those who were unfortunate enough not to have such powers, not only lost; they were wiped off the face of the earth, with only tiny pockets remaining. In the chaos and anarchy that followed at the lack of any real stable civilization, two factions emerged.

Erubesco, the faction of culture, monarchy, grace, and science.

Liberty, the faction of order, efficiency, unity, and progress.

Given the clash of their ideologies, lifestyles, and many other factors, it did not take long before both declared war on one another. They scrambled to collect land, stronger Gifted to fight under their command, and to gain an upper hand when both were equal in strength. Both groups even found themselves relying on tampering with genetic code, hoping to unlock something which would strengthen their own side. The war has currently been raging for eight years in total, in which many lives have been lost, and many atrocities committed.

Hello, good people of the Interest Boards! I'm Echo, and I'm hoping to become your GM for this morning/afternoon/night, and well beyond after if possible. :D

Gifted is a roleplay that I've made and rebooted several times in the past, but is one that I'm determined to make last this time around. It takes place in an open world roughly sixty years after a brutal war between humans with powers and humans without- during which the latter was wiped out in a complete genocide. Two global factions came to power not long after this, intending to pick up the pieces and forge their ideal world- Liberty, which puts the many before the individual, and Erubesco, which puts the individual above the many. Not everything is squeaky clean within these governments, however, and the world outside their walls is fraught with struggle and suffering. In a sense, depending on what sort of character you’re gearing for and where you’d like to put them, you can either have a Mad Max/Fallout type RP on your hands, a plot based around mingling and climbing the ladder of society, or your standard “fight a war” type deal.

What Gifted Hopes to Offer:

- A vast open world, bustling with opportunity and variety. Want to play a lab rat subjected to shady experimentation? We’ve got you covered. Want to play a budding socialite? Got that, too. A morally grey mercenary? A conflicted refugee? A lunatic raider? Get creative!

- A heavily engaged GM, and a (hopefully) lax environment in general.

- Several plotlines and arcs, and the flexibility to allow for you to contribute your own.

- A casual posting speed, and sense of understanding if delays come up.

- Moral dilemmas, and a grim- and occasionally silly and absurd- setting.

- Superpowers. Having superpowers is basically mandatory. It doesn't matter if the superpowers are your basic fire manipulation, or if you can make ice cream at will. It's up to you.

What We Expect From You:

- Courtesy and Commitment. Be polite to your fellow players. Give updates if something comes up. And for the love of all things holy, please don’t just up and leave without saying anything? I’ve had so many people vanish in the middle of the scene, only to find them writing in another plot not long after without saying a word to me. It’s frustrating, and even a quick “hey, sorry, I’m not interested anymore” or “something came up, I’ll try to post as soon as it’s over” would be fine.

- Creativity. Now, this isn’t really a rule or anything, but feel free to get wild in your ideas. The setting allows for some really weird stuff to happen, and some really bizarre figures to exist- especially in the Wastes and in Erubesco. Go ahead and have a character that only communicates in 1920s music, or an eccentric rich guy that builds houses out of live dogs, or a lady who had her torso replaced with a fishtank. Really have fun with it.

Now, with all that said and done, feel free to drop a message in the OOC or PM me if you’re interested. c: The link to the RP (which is still quite empty at the time of this board, haha) can be found here.

Thanks for reading, and I hope that I’ve managed to catch your eye with all this!

Well, I'm interested enough to keep an eye on this, but it looks worrisome that nobody else has noticed yet D:

@Shoryu Check the link! c: There’s been a decent amount of interest on the board itself, and we’re still very much welcoming new folk. Open world means a lotta room.
