Hi! These are my short stories that I write, usually when I go on two hour long binges of four minute songs. These might be horrible. Critiquing is welcomed and encouraged. Either PM me or post here and tag me! I might put up a guide to the stories later.

Thanks,
Arya

Bard

Somehow, the three soldiers had managed to tiredly stagger into the only tavern in this poor French town that could afford a musician- or at least one that was any good. The bard stepped up to the stage. “For all the fighters out there,“ he said, and the tavern fell deathly silent. A stringed instrument began to wail from the stage. His voice was rich and full of life as he began his song. The three men recognized it instantaneously, as everyone had been singing it when they realized that the men were soldiers.

“Wee be soldiers three,
pardona moi je vous en pri,
lately come forth from the low country
with never a penny of money.

Here good fellow I drink to thee,
pardona moi je vous en pri:
to all good fellows where ever they be,
with never a penny of money.

Here good fellow I'll sing you a song,
sing for the brave and sing for the strong
to all those living and those who have gone
with never a penny of money.

And he that will not pledge me this,
pardona moi je vous en pri:
pays for the shot what ever it is,
with never a penny of money.”

The tavern exploded in applause for the song. The bard and his company bowed, and then the bard nodded to the three males sitting in the darkest corner. He lifted a glass and took a swig before beginning again. As if on cue, the three left the room, completely synchronized. On their way out, they nodded to the man. The door opened and closed harshly. “Until we meet again,” the tallest said. “Aye,” chorused the other two. They rode through the night as fast as they could. By morning, they were all dead.

Lyrics are improvised from a 16th century song. The improvisations were done by Owain Phyfe. I own nothing except the small amount of storying.

Brother

Slam.Slam. Slamslamslamslam.
"Leave my door alone! Lay off the battering ram, will ya," called a voice from inside the room with the door was currently being smashed.

There was a thunk as the head hit a pillow, and then snoring. An older male came into the room.

"Hey," he said. "S'okay." He rubbed the female's back gently.

"Hmmmm," muttered the voice. "Mom?" Her brother knew that in the mornings right when she woke up, she'd often forget.

"No, she's gone." The answer he'd been giving her for the last month.

"Kev?"

A bittersweet smile crossed his face. "Right here, luv. Always right here." The girl turned and buried her face into the boy's chest.

"I love you," she said softly, just before hot tears slid out of her eyes and into his shirt that was balled in her fists. "I love you."

The male knew that she was just trying to cope with the loss of their parents, but if this was what she needed to be a functioning human the rest of the day, then so be it. He didn't care if this would be every morning of the rest of their lives. He just wanted to hold his little sister for as long as he could.

"Here." He pulled her head to a spot right over his heart where he knew she could hear his heartbeat. "You hear that?" She nodded meekly. "Know that I will love you, long after that stops. And know that I will tear Heaven and Hell apart with my bare hands to find you. You are my light. You are my life. I love you forever." A set of footsteps made the male glance up at the door. There was a youngish female standing there, about the male's age. He shook his head. "Not right now, Syd."

"I wanted to make sure she was okay before I left."

"Fair enough."

"Sydney," cried a hopeful voice from the male's chest.

"Yeah, hon?" The elder of the two females gave the male an I told you so look before taking his place in front of the girl, kneeling down so they were face-to-face and holding her hands.

"I love you." The girl threw her arms around her senior.

"I love you, too."

"I love you most," stated the male, wrapping this arms around both of them and holding them tightly. "I love you most."
