So the general premise would be a crossover between Fate/Stay Night and Digimon. What does that mean, exactly? Well, rather than Servants being summoned by the Grail, it would be Digimon summoned by the will of Yggdrasil for the same wish-granting purpose in Fuyuki City. Digimon would normally be as Rookies, but with the option to Digivolve to Champion and Ultimate; with Mega form being reserved as their equivalent of a Noble Phantasm and their equivalent of "revealing their true name" so to speak.
It's still the same concept of 7 Masters, 7 Digimon, one of each normal Fate class. The Command Seal system is still in place, in the form of Digivices granted to each Master, and works exactly the same as it does in regular Fate canon with three charges in the Digivice that grant absolute command.
The Masters wouldn't be mages as much as just regular people who happened to come across a Digiegg online by chance or some other method. Magic wouldn't really exist in this canon, but will be replaced by a passive ability gained while your Digimon is near you; this ability allows the Master to become supernaturally proficient with technology, allowing them knowledge or skill they normally wouldn't have without a Digimon such as the ability to hack into classified areas or extract knowledge at quickened speeds.
No canon Fate or Digimon human characters are allowed, as this is strictly AU in that regard. However, if you want your Digimon to be canon from a series or game to fit the idea of them being "legendary heroes" then that's fine. For example, Tai's Agumon, Takato's Guilmon, Dorumon from the X Evolution movie, etc. Only if faithfully RPed however, and their original tamers wouldn't exist in this universe due to AU shenanigans.
