The Fall of a Kingdom

Known as the North Lands to non natives, Menethil is a nation known for its perpetual winter and its isolationist views on the world. Rarely do their people fight in the wars in the South, and rarely does the South meddle in its affairs. Surrounded by mountains on all but one one border, no country would be crazy enough to try invading Menethil. Given their self sufficient, isolationist views, what reason would there be? The country is barren, the land unable to bear fruit. The northern position and mountains offer no tactical advantage, nor would any invading force last long. The storms and the cold have broken even the most disciplined of armies, and that doesn't even account for Menethil's own military.

Despite it's reputation, Menethil is a relatively livable country. While the land itself is barren, the people have personal greenhouses within their homes. The sea to the north, while mostly frozen over, offers plentiful fishing. The country is peaceful, leaving its inhabitants with a an easy way of life.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure how to work the idea into a proper story. I lost a little bit of my creative juices making this, so I'll just be straight forward for the rest of this. I wanted to make a story of "Prince kills the king, starting the downfall of their own country." I was heavily inspired by the story of Arthas Menethil of Warcraft, and well... It kind of shows. I did want to put a unique spin on it though, in the sense that nobody would be roleplaying as the evil prince! We'd be one of his subjects! Maybe a maid and butler for the Prince, where they watch his downfall and slow descent into insanity firsthand. Maybe two soldiers who defect, wishing to fight for their countries freedom against the Prince? My motivation took a tank heavily mid post for this, but I'd really like to try this idea. I'd also really like to hear your thoughts, so...

Hit me up if you somehow want to try and collaborate on this story with me! I'd love to hear what you think!
