You can start by having a look or creating an interest check to find an RP you may like. Think of them like an advertisement board. Once you have enough interest you should be able to start up an actual RP. Your welcome PM should hold some additional info and links for newcomers.

@Lwunder To add on what @NuttsnBolts said, make sure to check if the RP you're joining is jump-in, apply or full. Jump-in is what it means; no need to apply a character sheet. Apply RPs are where you have to apply and receive the GM's permission to begin posting IC. Full RPs are RPs that aren't accepting character applications at the current time. Make sure to check with the GM too, as most have their own specific rule sets for RPs too.
