Ben looked to her, and for this moment in time, there was a crack in that hard mask upon Ben's face, giving way for confusion and anguish. She knew what Ben thought. She had seen it through the moments, the quick observations, she would be pulled to seeing by the Force. The Force whispering to her his beliefs. She knew Ben believed her to be dead. She had always felt it better that way, so that he didn't come after her and she could finish her training. Yet, the Force was often tugging on her like this, forcing her to see him, even if it was just in quick flashes. It certainly had never done this before, leading them into a shared vision. At least, not since they had parted ways that is. Why now? Why after nine years was the Force bringing them together in a vision such as this, showing them this far off memory of what used to be?

She heard his name come off of his lips and for the time being, she stood there, gazing at him in uncertainty. Would he try to attack her even in this vision? Even with him believing her to already be dead? As she looked to him though and heard her old nickname rather than her full name, it made her believe not. And...for some odd reason, hearing him say it brought a sort of...warmth to her. She couldn't explain such feelings. Had thought that after all these years, seeing him again would make her hate him for what he had done. But, her feelings seemed to have not faded. That love and longing still rested solidly within her chest wishing to burst out and wrap him in it.

Slowly Odette took a stop forward, hesitantly and careful, as though waiting for the Force to tug her back into reality. And when it didn't, she took another step. Than another. Moving slowly and cautiously, a healthy about of fear in her body as she approached him, until she stood just a few feet from him. She opened her mouth, though paused, unsure what to say. The last time they had been face to face had been when she begged him to stop, pleading for him to come to his senses and not destroy everything they both once held dear. What was there to saw that could follow up such a heartbreaking experience?

She closed her mouth again, eyes turning toward in sorrow. There were mixed emotions coursing through her. Sorrow. And yet longing and happiness in seeing him again. Tears even formed in the corners of her eyes, though she refused to let them fall as she looked up to him. And despite the sorrow in her gaze, a soft smile graced her lips as she looked to him, "It's been a while, hasn't it Ben?"

Kylo Ren
29 | Dark Side User | Supreme Leader Kylo Ren

Every step that the apparition took towards him caused a tremor of fear in him. The woman that he had considered a mistake for near a decade, the girl that had been his light, was waltzing towards him. The image of strength and Light Side power. He steeled himself, staid the impulse to run away. That was not the way of a Knight of Ren or The Supreme Leader of the galaxy. She closed the distance between them, Kylo hushed his stuttering breaths.

"Enough," he muttered in response to her greeting.

He moved away from her, ignoring her to a degree. "ENOUGH! Luke! Leia! Cease this now!"

A sizzle and crackle cut the serenity, his lightsaber brought ignite. He hid his face now, the locks of his black hair concealing him. Lamentation broke his voice. "This," he started, jabbing a harsh finger towards the ghost. "That is cruel! And you call yourself a Jedi..." The Supreme Leader's voice descended to obscurity. His shoulders rose with his quickened breathing, his ire.

Then suddenly, it all came to an eerie calm. Even in the presence of her ghost, Kylo Ren refused to lose control. He turned his tear-dampen face towards her, his recent experiences too harsh to allow all-out sadness on his face. For a instant, unbidden and unwelcome, Snoke's words reached through to him. As dead as Snoke was, they left a painful scar; they whispered his greatest flaw.

You have too much of your father's heart in you, young Solo.

...Kill the past.

Kylo raised his lightsaber towards her. Through a deep scowl he stepped towards her; a predator on the hunt for answers or blood. "What's the meaning of this? you will answer me, whether you be ghost or fabrication. Where's Luke and Rey? I know you know, I can feel them lingering on you. If you've searched out a shell of your past, then surely you've looked for, Luke as well. Or maybe you're just a puppet being controlled by, Luke? Where is she? they?"

His raced at breakneck speeds, searching for answers through his studies. A Force Ghost perhaps?

When Ben muttered a single word in response to her greeting, the small smile dropped from her face as she watched his reaction. He stepped away from her, yelling for both Luke and Leia to stop this, as though they were the ones doing this, connecting them as such. She doubted this was of their doing though. She had not seen either of them in almost a decade. If either would have tried something like this, they would have done so long ago. This was done through the will of the Force, as mysterious as it was. Odette flinched back when Ben pointed a finger toward her, saying that it was cruel. She supposed it would be, him believing her to be dead. He wouldn't even look to her, her breaths quick and the panic clear in his body language as his shoulders rose and fell in staggered breaths.

There was a sudden calm as he turned his gaze toward her, tears having stained his cheeks. Then, as quick as the panic came, soon came a look of a predator, Ben stepping toward her with saber raised the searing heat of the red blade mere inches from her neck. Even in this vision, she could feel the heat radiating off of it. She wondered if it would be painful for him to stab it through her in this dream she was having. And at the same time, she wondered what else she could feel in this dream if she could feel such things as heat from a saber.

Ben's words confused her, that much showed clear on her face. Luke and Rey? She had no idea where Luke was, the man having hide himself away, shielding anyone from finding him. She knew, she had tried for many years. As for this 'Rey', she had no idea who that even was, much less were they were.

Taking a step forward, enough so that the blade of his saber was dangerously close to her skin, yet not piercing or burning yet, blue yeed gaze meeting his, "I am a puppet to no one, Ben. I don't know where Luke is, and I don't know who this Rey is either." She said in all seriousness, and there was a bit of hurt in her eyes as well, "I don't know what is causing this. Why I'm here, or why you're here. Perhaps the Force brought this upon us?" It was tortuous, having him so close, yet so far. It was almost as though he hated her, and it made her heart ache. Was he really that far gone? To threaten her as though she were nothing? To act as though she were some plague? Some mistake?

Her sorrowful eyes looked to the angry red blade at her neck, then they turned back up to him, her voice quieter, and perhaps trembling slightly, though she did her best to try and not let it be heard, "Do you...hate me?"

His lightsaber sizzled, still inches from her throat. Her question, her resolve, pulled at an organ he believed was gone. A dried husk, empty shell of what it was suppose to be. He fought vehemently against the urge to comfort her and it showed on his face as slight twitches, uncomfortable turns, and not-unkind glowers.

As Supreme Leader it was his duty to set the galaxy in order. To right the wrongs of the Jedi and The Rebellion, he could see it now... if he accepted the reemergence of these feelings, it would only be a downward spiral from there. Kylo gritted his teeth and slid his red blade another inch forwards.

"Yes, Odette. I hate you! Wholly and completely, without restraint. I despise everything you represent and care about. The Order, Luke, The Light Side! All of it," he yelled.

He deactivated his lightsaber and hooked it to his belt. Kylo Ren turned his side to her, the Dark Side offering him sedatives for his anguish. "I loathe you so much, you're not even worth slaying. Now tell me what you know? A ghost is nothing if not invasive. Where are, Luke and The Resistance?"

Kill the past.

"If you have no answers for me then you're useless to me. Just another vestige of my discarded past." Kylo could feel the vision shifting, the connection beginning to crumble. He narrowed his gaze at Odette, the ghost of past. He moved to touch her, pulling his glove from hand. He wanted to know if she felt like a ghost, if her skin felt the same as before. He warned, "Don't move."

Hearing Ben's words yell at her and the movement of the saber made her flinch back a little, the hurt clear in her eyes. She never would have thought she would have heard Ben said he hated her. She loved him so dearly, more than anything else in the universe. His admition of hating her and everything about her stabbed her deeply. The tears in her corner of her eyes finally escaped, rolling down her cheeks, turning her gaze downward as he deactivated his saber and turned to the side. Once again he was asking about Luke and the Resistance, the question she had no answers for. As he asked, the vision they were trapped in began to waver.

She felt his gaze turn to her and when she felt him reach toward her, she froze. He told her not to move and she did as he said, until his fingers touched her skin. His hand on her cheek, she slowly lifted her head to look at him, the tears rolling down her cheeks rolling on his hand. Carefully, her own hands lifted, gently touching the hand that rested on her cheek, holding his hand with her own and leaning her cheek into the touch, closing her eyes for just a moment. She was silent for a moment, taking in the feeling of his touch for the first time in nearly a decade. She took a shaky breath before she opened her eyes again and gazed up to him once more.

Even though it was difficult to see, she could see and feel the inner struggle in him. The old Ben was still in there. She just...just had to find a way to bring him out.

"Even....even if you hate me, Ben...I still love you. More than anything. You were and always will be My Universe." The vision was wavering all the more and she seemed saddened all the more that the connection would soon end. She wanted more time. To speak to him, to remind him of what they once had. It was as these feelings passed through her, an image flashed to the forefront of her mind, brought forth by the Force. Of a familiar bag, but not in the place it always sat within her hut. It was in some strange room, surrounded by the metalic walls of a ship or base. Why was the Force showing her the bag? Unless...had Ben never looked inside of it? But, if he really hated her as he said, what good would reading her letter even do? If the Force was showing her this though, then it was important, right?

With his lightsaber at his side and not between them and his hand still on her cheek, she found herself moving forward ever so slightly so that they were closer, placing her hands on his cheeks as the vision more quickly crumbled around them, looking up to him pleadingly as she spoke quickly, attempting to speak before the vision completely fell from under them, "Ben, the bag. The one you took from my hut. You need to look inside it." Her face grew closer to his, though didn't allow her lips to meet his like she so wished to. One could see the struggle in her, wanting so much to show him the love she felt for him, yet not wanting to push him to more anger or hatred by such a move. Her lips were close to his, though trembled, closing her eyes tightly, more tears slipping from her eyes as she barely allowed her forehead to press against his, "I love you Ben."

And with that, the vision fell out from around them, leaving her gasping for breath as she lay wide eyed in her bed, staring up at the ceiling of her bedroom, stunned and unsure. Why had the Force brought them together like that, and....just what was it the Force was beckoning her to do?
