What was once thought to be a simple cruise vacation has been twisted into a horrifying nightmare.
In an attempt to repair their relationship, <Hero's Character> and <My Character> boarded S.S. Stratus on a cruise along the western coasts of South and Central America. The cruise vacation was supposed to be a time for them to unwind and relax for the first time in forever, far away from the troubles they had. Nonetheless, it seemed Mother Nature had other plans for the couple, when the cruise ship would find itself stuck within a freak storm.
The storm would sunder the S.S. Stratus, with the very waves and wind that tearing at the foundation of the cruise liner. The captain of the S.S. Stratus thought he could weather the storm, but when the ship had begun to capsize under the pressure of the storm, he was forced to make the call to abandon the S.S. Stratus, ordering the crew and passengers to the lifeboats. However, his command never made it far, with numerous people being swept overboard.
Those that were fortunate to be alive grabbed on to what they could, while the less fortunate drowned beneath the watery blue, their bodies now fish food for the sharks. By the time the storm dissipated, the couple had drifted far, far away from any other lifeboats, and in the direction of a seemingly uncharted island. Eager to get out of the water, they expended what energy they still had left, swimming their way towards the shore.
Little did they know that their troubles had been far from over, however, as their destination had been the former site of a largely unknown biological theme park, abandoned after a deadly disaster that had brought the demise of the park before it had even opened. Within the jungle were beasts that roamed the Earth 65 million years ago, and now, the couple was forced to survive alongside them as they attempt to find a way to return home.

If it isn't evident by the roleplay's title, this roleplay will be taking place within the Jurassic Park setting. We will primarily be following the movie canon, as Isla Nublar was bombed with napalm in the novels (and planned to be bombed in the Telltale game). However, this isn't to say that the novels and any video games will be ignored entirely, so if something sounds interesting enough, it will likely make an appearance in this roleplay.
To establish a time frame for this roleplay, it takes place sometime after the Isla Nublar incident of 1993, but before the expedition to Isla Sorna happens. This gives us a blank slate to work from, as the Masrani Corporation doesn't show interest until a few years after the original Jurassic Park. Additionally, BioSyn may potentially come up in this roleplay, though their reasons behind coming to the island are likely as unknown as they are mysterious and full of backstabbing betrayal.
