Of the Ursid Fanged Beasts, I have to say Arzuros is my favorite. Lagombi and Volvidon have more interesting fights, but really Arzuros just wants to be left alone with his fish and honey. But I will go out and shank Winnie the Pooh for that armor set.

100%! I always pick up Shadow-Pooh's armour, haha! These days I'm mix and matching so it's hard to get full sets. (My heart rejects them...)

Unless I can transmog (and I can't since I only have vanilla Generations), I rarely go for a mixed set. But farming all the pieces can be a bitch, especially for tougher monsters like Elder Dragons. Had to get Teostra mats for its armor and Bow (BTW, Teostra Bow in Generations is nearly a game-breaker), and I couldn't get those fricking horns for the helmet.

T e o s t r a. That stupid fire-shield-nonsense he drums up eats bullets, and I refuse to switch off HBG. (So my selfish ass and the 3 chums I've dragged along for the adventure get to have a GREAT TIME.)

I didn't know the bow was break-worthy in Gen! I'm sitting playing World, I'm not sure what the best bow is. I can only remember the Kelbi Bow being 'broken' in MH3U. :S I'm not sure WHY but it's what I remember people complaining about.

When it's maxed out in Generations, with the right skills, it can kill monsters pretty easily. As this poor Ukanlos found out.



Mind you, Ukanlos is an Elder Dragon-level monster, and according to Kiranico, the one in that quest has 10990 HP.

But yes, Blast/Slime was extremely broken in 3U. For GenU, the Teostra bow got nerfed because it was so strong.

I usually main CB, though I also run with GS and Hammer, and I love using Bow and LBG in Generations with the Aerial Style. It's flashy and impractical most of the time, but it makes mounting easier.

Sorry that reply took a while, I've been at Uni Open days and just CRASHING when I get home. 9.9

Man, to think back then I was rolling around all "WHY WONT IT DIIIIE". The only thing I didn't like about the Bow on the DS was aiming, and I don't know why cause it's not like the guns aiming was MUCH better? I look down my nose at the LBG though. Tiny baby gun. Wasted on the world. >=(

LBG is certainly best used in group hunts. Aiming can be a bit iffy, especially without a Circle Pad Pro (which I do not have). But Aerial LBG in Generations has a nice feel when firing Rapid Shot in the air. It's ideal for close-range ammo types, but with Crag Rapid Shot, it's a lot of fun.

God, I forgot all about the Hunter Arts! It's been ages since I played that game, I don't know why, the monsters were pretty fun to fight! I really loved Astalos.
