The son of Robert McGregor, a Scottish man who has lived in Tokyo since he was ten and Haruki Kobayashi, a Japanese woman originally from Kyoto. His father is a police officer and his mother is a teacher at an all girl school, the pair gave their children their mother's maiden name even though she took her husband's name to make life in Japan easier for them. Growing up Angus was instilled a sense of honor from both Japanese and Celtic cultures so he took up sword fighting as soon as he could. Not long after he started school his mother became pregnant with twin girls. When he hit puberty it quickly became apparent that his Celtic half made him much taller than most of those around him, especially since his dad is 6'4". Because of all of that he is often over-protective of his younger sisters and it ended up carrying over to others he cares about. Leading him to being very pro-active in how he protects people and sometimes over-stepping, so while he is usually quiet he will not hesitate to jump to save somebody if thinks it needs done, but sometimes he does in carried away when doing so because due to his size and training he is stronger than most people around him. For the last couple of years Angus Kobayashi has been the captain of his school's Kendo team, where he specializes in the Odachi. As of last summer he has finished growing height wise, leaving him at the same height as his dad at 6'4".

Dossier: He has an American father but a Mother who was born to immigrants to the USA from Japan. He graduated at the end of the school year and decided to join his parents on their missionary trip to Japan that is set to last 6 months. Though the rest of his family has jobs, such as English lessons or local service projects, he is largely free because he is a minor. Although he does help with local service projects when he is eligible to do so. His family is has connections back to the Portuguese missionaries of old from his mother's side and her ancestors left Goho island for America in the 1870s.
He was raised in a supportive home and is from a middle class family. He has a hobby in combat robotics which consumes much of his time with tinkering on them. He also reads quite a bit and mostly science fiction books and magazines related to cars and mechanical things. He graduated top 25 in his class and has already been accepted to South Harmon Institute of Technology for engineering.
He has a quiet demeanor but has a tendency to talk on and on about things he knows. Despite his robot combat love he is largely pacifist and will seek to avoid conflicts. Physically he is out of shape and his poor diet choices are not helpful to correcting the problem. He has a trusting nature and has on more than occasion been manipulated by other children at school. He has a large desire to see the good in everyone and sometimes he can get burned for it.
