If you want him to run off before she gets there that's also fine. Otherwise if he remains, she'll send out a note to rendezvous at the Shire again.

How much time is left before the fight against the Wynters, do you think?

Couple weeks for the initial fight where we decide if we win or not.

Thinking about it, I like the idea of the Wynters winning the first battle. It would remove the Hyraces from the top of the food chain for a while and force the Order to make compromises with the vampires they were sworn to kill in order to gather the power to take the Wynters off their pedestal before they do too much damage. I could also see it leading to the beginning of a transition in power from Peter to Vail, because it would partly be Peter's fault for denying the Wynters' threats for too long. He could blame himself for the loss (especially if members of their clan die in the fighting) and lose faith in himself as a leader, so Vail would have to step up to keep them safe while also helping Victoria adapt to life as a vampire.

I think that is a good strategy, although if the Wynter's do win, Victoria will be their prize unless The Order take her somewhere safe, far away. Like Scotland.

Would they still want her if Vail takes her away and turns her though? Her blood wouldn’t do them any good anymore.

Maybe he doesn't need to do it just yet? She doesn't need to get fatally wounded in their first fight.

If Vail does turn her, will it form a bond between them that means she HAS to join the Hygrace clan? If not, then the Wynters will still want her to join them for breeding purposes and gaining numbers.

It doesn’t have to be in the first fight. And no, it’s customary for the new fledgling to join the clan of the vampire that bit them, but they still have the free will to move to another clan (which also means they can be taken). I’m mostly just trying to think of ways to give Vail more of a purpose in the main conflict, since he hasn’t had room to do a whole lot up til this point outside of the romance. The action is mainly happening on Victoria’s side.

I could also see everyone taking refuge somewhere further away after the battle if they lose, because the Wynters would want to “clean house” to make sure the Hygraces aren’t a threat to them anymore. During the fight is when Victoria would be injured (if she still is), yeah? If so, I was thinking Vail would notice and stop whatever he was doing to take her away from danger before he realizes she’s already dying and turns her. From there, maybe some of the others from his clan and/or the Order run after the tide turns in favor of the Wynters, and they flee together. Victoria would wake up wherever they end up taking sanctuary a week later.

The Wynters will try not to injure Victoria as her blood is precious to them. The only way she'd be injured is if the Order hurt her in order to stop the Wynters from acquiring her, which could give Vail a reason to hate them more and seek vengeance against the Saints. Especially if it ends up being Gerald.

Hm, okay. I don't see how the Saints could take her with them if she gets injured then, because the turning process takes a whole week, and Vail would definitely take her away while everyone else is distracted by the fighting. He would know from the book they read that he needs to keep her safe while she's vulnerable. If anything, it seems more likely that she'll end up with the Hyraces wherever they go to take refuge. Did you have any thoughts/preferences about how it should go? We could also try the route of having them win instead of lose, with the Hyraces and the Saints becoming enemies while the Wynters lick their wounds. That would give us a more traditional vampire vs slayer story for a while.

I think I would prefer the Wynters to win thanks to Peter's denial and ill preparedness for their arrival. Therefore, not having a choice but to ally with the saints and take refuge. And keep Victoria human for as long as possible.

Sounds good to me! So we'll cut the part where she gets injured then. I'm excited to see where the story goes from there ^^

Would Diana have ever seen Peter before? She might not realize it was Vail who just approached her, since they all appear the same age. Unless she remembers Victoria's sketches in detail, haha.

The cure to senioritis is all about motivation. Keep a positive attitude through the end and keep reminding yourself of your end goal! Or so says Almighty Google. I still have 4.5 years to go, even longer if I get this promotion and have to study for a NEBOSH and having to take a year out of my studies >.<

It's definitely hard when I've only got 12 more weeks left before I graduate ^^; The class I took a midterm in isn't related to my major though, so I don't really care what I get, haha. I just picked it up for the extra credits, because I was 3 short of my required 120 to get my degree in May. I'm investing almost all my time into the projects that I'm doing for my field, because those actually matter to me :)

Good luck with getting a promotion! Delays to schooling are frustrating, but extra money is always nice lol What kind of position are you trying to get?
