Molly calmed down and went silent. It seemed like they were safe.

The closet doors swung open without warning, and the Lady Captain was glaring directly at Shane, her usually tired expression replaced by one overwhelmed by anger.

"Hello, little boy."

Shane was frozen in fear as the woman opened the closet. He hoped that she hadn't noticed Molly yet. He didn't know how to react. What could he even do, right now? Apologise and beg for his life? Try to fight this woman somehow? Should he try to make a run for it, leaving Molly behind?

The boy just stared at the Captain, waiting for whatever she would do to him.

She moved quick, grabbing Shane by his shirt and tossing him across the floor like a rag doll. Her expression changed so quickly from one of exhausted melancholy, to a fearsome glare with hatred welling up from the pits of her pupils.

"What did you do!? Stupid child, what did you do!?!"

"Aaaahh!!" Shane yelled, as his body slammed against the floor. As he grinded to a halt, the boy tried to get up. But his exhaustion, combined with the sheer pain that he was feeling, merely allowed him to slightly push his body upwards with his hands. Even if he did have energy left, what would it matter? What could he possibly do?

"S-shit..." He mumbled under his breath, contemplating on what to do. Was this how he was going to die? He had no intention of answering the woman at all, believing that it wouldn't matter anyway.

The lady captain walked over to Shane and grabbed him by the hair until he was eye level with her.

Shane struggled to break free from the woman's grasp, gritting his teeth in pain as the woman pulled on his hair.

"Do...do you mean the fruit in the chest? Tasted...bad.." The boy blurted out.

"Tasted? Tasted!?" The woman picked Shane right off the ground and stood up straight. "You ate it? You ate the Freeze Freeze fruit?!" She pulled him close to her face. "You must be joking. Tell me you're joking, little boy. I like to think myself above murdering children, but if you've truly eaten the fruit..."

Shane stared into the woman's eyes, terrified. "F-Freeze?..." The kid simply mumbled, as the woman spoke about murdering children. Did she have everyone in the village killed, too? Shane still had a small hope that perhaps, the pirates would have simply destroyed the village and stopped at that. But now, it seemed much more unlikely. "Please...let me go!" He pleaded. He was trying to avoid bringing up Molly in any way.

The lady Captain slammed Shane against the floor, sending him bouncing towards the closed doors. "Stupid boy! Answer my question!" The woman's eyes drifted towards the closet where Molly still lay.

Shane shrieked in pain as his body slammed into the ground again. As the woman began to look towards the closet, the boy quickly spoke. He needed to keep her attention away from Molly. "I ate it...stop, please!" The boy cried out.

The woman rose her hand and looked down at Shane while tendrils of dark fog swirled around her fingertips. Her chest rose and fell with heavy, heaving breaths, but after a few seconds frozen in place, the fire in her eyes died down, and the fog faded to a dim hue. She walked over to the closet without delay and pulled Shane's sister out with one hand, holding her high over his head.

"I'm above killing children. It's the only rule I must abide by. The only rule that the Sullen Pirates must abide by. But you aren't walking off this boat without losing something." She tossed Molly onto her bed and stomped over towards Shane. "You take something from me, I take something from you."

Shane clenched his fists tightly, more out of adrenaline rather than anger. "Leave Molly out of this!..." The boy pleaded.
