And they were killed by Ilithids! No, that's not what happened! His father was imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, and he was murdered to silence the truth! Nah, that's kind lame. Wait! His parents were wealthy nobles, right? And their carriage was knocked off a cliff by a drunk Hill Giant, who then urinated into the carriage for good measure, drowning them!
