Ray looked to Benjamin as he spoke, she hesitated before she nodded once. "Later." She said to herself.
She glanced up towards Dia, watching her slowly with a small quiver as she bit down on her sandwich again.
Dia turned her attention away from Ray as she watched the staff, trying to see if any of them were watching them.

Ari waited outside the messhall with a sigh, looking around before she paused. She headed towards where she was getting a strange feeling.
She stepped towards the shadowed hallway she could see before she was grabbed and pulled into the shadows; pinned to the wall as Josh looked over her with narrowed eyes and bared sharpened teeth.
"Back off!" Ari growled, swinging her legs out to try and hit him.

Benjamin finished his meal and leaned back, crossing his arms as he glanced in the room. His eyes settled on the patients that just stared in the distance. Ray had looked like that too. Had they gotten the same medication? It was a shame he couldn't look into it; he had no access to those files. And he wasn't sure they would let Sara access those files either. Was she a registered nurse, or just a member of the staff helping out? Where was she anyway?

He shook his head; too many questions. "I'd engage in some small-talk," he said to Ray. "But that's hard to do if you can't see the weather or watch any news. I feel isolated from the world and I have no idea what's going on outside."

Ray frowned as Benjamin spoke, "I fully understand that." She sighed slightly before she smiled a bit, "What did you dream about?" She asked with a tilt of her head. It was usually her go to for small small talk... Not that she really got to be in a lot of small talk. Most of the staff tended to ignore her.

Another Staff member stepped towards Dia with a quizzing look.
"May I help you?" Dia asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I am just wondering why you're here with two patients instead of helping out." The other staff member said, almost condescendingly.
"Well I was placed on looking after Ray after her run in with the Med Lab." Dia replied carefully, narrowing her eyes slightly as her eyes glimmered. The other staff member hesitated before shaking their head before walking off without another word.
"Bitch." Dia hissed under her breath.

Benjamin thought back to his night and the dreams he had. There was only one that had lingered long enough in his mind to recall. And he began to tell it:

"I was cooking in a kitchen - in my dream it felt like my kitchen, but it was really modern and bright and we don't have a kitchen like that at home - and I was making a stew. For some reason I was adamant it needed strawberries and we didn't have strawberries, so I asked my sister to get some. She came back with blueberries and I send her away for strawberries again, and then she came back with blackberries. And the third time she had raspberries. And then I found some strawberries in the oven - I don't know how they got there - and put those in the stew."

He finished the last of his tea. "Now that I'm awake it sounds absolutely disgusting to put strawberries in a stew," he laughed a bit and shrugged, "but in my dream it seemed to make sense."

Ray listened quietly, tilting her head as he explained things.
"That... sounds interesting." She started, moving to cover the smile on her mouth. "Dreams tend not to make any sense." She continued, "At least you're having good dreams. That's always a positive thing, especially in a place like this."

At least it made Ray smile, that was a good thing. And granted, it was a good dream. He too had smiled when he thought back to his dream and the absurdity of it.

"Yes, no nightmares about this place yet," Benjamin replied. "But give it a few days, I'm sure they will start" He sighed and scratched his head. "The first night here I did have a bad dream in which I got dragged into darkness by something while my parents watched, which obviously was a reflection of how betrayed I felt for them not doing anything to keep me out of this place."

Rays' smile faltered as he explained the first dream. "That... sounds terrible." She started slowly, she fully understood how he felt. "I wonder if we can find stuff to make a dream catcher for you, just in case."
Dia rolled her eyes slightly, "Not like the boss would allow it." She said, looking towards Ray again, "But you've never believed in those things, always saying they're just 'witch gimmicks'." She said before she paused, getting a glance from two of the other staff members before she looked down.

Sara hopped out of her room and headed quickly towards the mess hall. Why had she forgotten about breakfast?? Why didn't her stomach yell at her earlier?
She skidded around the corner and slammed into the wall beside the mess hall door. Sara stumbled back slowly before she shakily entered the mess hall. She was still in her Pajamas', her hair messy and her face showed she slept terribly. She looked over the room and moved to wave towards Ben and Ray with a soft smile.

"I'm not convinced they work," Benjamin admitted, although he appreciated the thought. "Especially when they are made by people who don't know how they are supposed to work. If it's made by someone with spiritual knowledge they mightwork, but I couldn't create one even if I knew the technique of making one."

He looked up when he noticed Sara entered the mess hall. For the first time since he had met her, she looked more like a patient than a staff-member. And judging by the whispers and glances of some of the nurses, they too saw her as a patient who was allowed to help out the staff.

Benjamin returned the wave and beckoned her to join them. While he was done eating, she might appreciate some company while she had her breakfast.

Dia gave a small nod, "Neither did I, and before now, neither did Ray." She started before Ray simply smiled. At the sight of Sara she tensed up as she made her way over as Benjamin motioned for her to come over.

Sara moved to pull a seat out on the other side of the table and sat down with a large smile.
"Good morning." She said before she looked to Dia hesitantly before she returned her eyes back to Benjamin. "I'm sorry, I know this is probably weird to see a staff member some sit with you to have food." She said with a bit of a sigh.

"... I think..." Benjamin began slowly, trying to decide how to bring it gently, "it's considered inappropriate for a staff member to eat with the patients." He paused when one of the nurses came to the table with the cart of tea, coffee and porridge.
He was getting more and more convinced they had led Sara to believe she was a full member of the staff, when she in reality was considered a patient who was allowed to take on some extra work and assist the staff. But was it really his place to tell Sara if she thought she was part of the staff?

The nurse smiled at Sara. "would you like something warm from the cart, dear?" she asked her.

Sara watched Benjamin as he spoke before she kind of shrunk into herself.
"I can... Leave you guys alone if you'd like?" She asked with a bit of a frown. Ray watched her with narrow eyes, tensed and her head snapped towards the nurse as she came up with the trolley again.

Sara flinched before she looked to her with a smile, "Porridge and a little cup of Tea please?" She asked with a feigned smile. She didn't want to annoy Benjamin and Ray, but what Benjamin said made her want to move away. She opened her mouth to say something before she closed it and slunk back into her own self.

Ari tried to pull away from Josh as he felt his powers try and pry at her. She found it hard to breathe, why couldn't she breathe properly, was she being smothered by the shadows?
Wait, How was she breathing?
"H..Hey!" Ari said as she suddenly planed her foot against Josh' chest and shoved him down the dark hallway and stumbled back, slamming into a wall with heavy breathing. "Holy shit.. What the fuck."

Ray felt the bond between her and Ari sever and something in her snapped. She stood up from the table with an angered clatter of her chair.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?" She yelled towards Dia, stepping towards her as the not-so-spirit backed herself into the wall.
"Ray, calm down." Dia said quietly, lifting her hands up towards Ray. Why was she acting this way? "They're going to put you back away again."
"What did you do to Ari you fucking..." She hissed, moving her hand to Dia's neck with a snarl.

The nurse at the cart smiled as a mother would to her child. "Here you go, dear," she said as she put it on the table for her. "Enjoy the meal with your friends. Will you be helping us out again today?"

Benjamin looked from the nurse to Sara; surely she heard it too, the nurse didn't think of her as a member of the staff, but a patient who was allowed to help out. At least, that was his take in her words and the tone of her voice.
But he didn't have long to wonder about that; suddenly Ray snapped and went for Dia. Immediately Benjamin jumped up and grabbed Ray's arm.
"What the hell, Ray! What's wrong with you?"

Benjamin wasn't the only one who had reacted; two male nurses rushed to the scene to save a fellow nurse from an aggressive patient.

Sara slunk into her chair at the idea of helping out, "I... Don't know. I thought I was rostered on for the afternoon shift with Marc but..." She was cut short as Dia was attacked by Ray. She looked to her food as everyone seemed to rush over, she was trying to stay calm and not have a panic attack as people seemed to surround them.

"You're the reason I'm even in here!" Ray yelled, she had pulled her arm back to strike Dia before Benjamin grabbed it. She glanced back to him and gave a bit of a snarl as she yanked it from him. "Don't get in the way, if you're fucking smart you wouldn't be on this bitches side." She turned her attention back to Dia before something was jabbed into her neck from one of the other nurses.

Dia watched in horror as Ray succumb to the tranquillizer that was entered into her blood stream, she didn't relax as she watched Ray almost flop back into the nurses arms. She looked to Benjamin in fear, looking to Sara with worry before she closed her eyes and tried to focus on Ari; was Ari safe?

Benjamin wanted to reply and defend Dia, but one of the nurses tranquillized her.
"We'll have to put her in solitary again," a second nurse said when she joined the one with the syringe. "Do you need help to get her there?"
She already wrote down what had occurred and what had been said, to report it to the psychiatrist later on.

Benjamin wanted to protest, but his words would mean nothing to the staff. And to be fair, Ray seemed a bit scary now, and hostile. And this was so unlike the Ray he had met.
He leaned to Dia. "What happened? Why did she think you did something to Ari?" he whispered to her.

The first nurse glanced towards Dia carefully before looking back to the second nurse with a nod. "Help would be good." He grunted, "Get me a stretcher would you? She's surprisingly heavy when she's dead weight."

Sara slunk in her chair, closing her eyes and started to fiddle with her shirt as she started to mumble things to herself to keep her calm.
Dia was visibly shivering as Benjamin spoke to her, she watched the two nurses move Ray off as she glanced towards Benjamin.
"I..." She started, her voice quivering, "I don't know. I... Can't feel my connection to Ari." She admitted in fear.

The nurse rushed away to get a stretcher, but with things like this happening more often there were usually stretchers kept nearby. When she found one she rushed back to Ray so they could get her into solitary confinement, where she belonged.

Benjamin glanced at Sara for a moment and waited until the nurses had moved away a little. "First things first," he said, looking from Dia to Sara. "Let's see if we can find Ari. Ray freaked out because she thought something had happened to her. If she knows Ari is safe, she may calm down again and stop endangering herself or attack Dia."

Dia nodded, "Good idea." She glanced and watched the nurses take Ray away. She frowned slightly and tried to contact Ari again to no avail. "She's... Not touchable by the spirit link like she used to be." She said.
Sara stayed silent as everyone rushed past her, moving to shakily grab her drink to sip it as she watched Benjamin and Dia speak. "A...Am I allowed to finish breakfast first?" She asked with a shaky voice.

Benjamin turned to Sara and nodded. "Of course. It wouldn't be fair to not let you eat first." He sat down again to keep her company. While he was worried about Ari, there was very little he could do about a spirit being in trouble. "If you're worried about her and want to go look for her, you can," he said as he turned to Dia. "We'll catch up with you."
If there was one person here who understood spirits tied to Ray, it was Dia.

Sara seemed to relax a bit as Benjamin sat with her, starting to eat her porridge. She kept her eyes at the table and her food as Benjamin spoke to Dia, she looked up as Dia moved in her vision.
"I'll... Go see if I can find her." She said before she quickly left the messhall and down the halls. She wanted to call out for Ari, but she didn't want to pull attention to herself, at least not anymore than she had with Ray attacking her.

Sara looked up towards Benjamin and smiled softly.
"Thank you." She said in a half croak in her voice. "I... Appreciate you staying with me." She shivered, fear easily shown in her eyes and through her body.

"My pleasure," Benjamin replied. He watched Dia leave, and when she was out of sight he turned his attention to Sara. "What an eventful morning, right?" he uttered, followed by a sigh.
What had happened with Ray? Now she would be locked up in solitairy confinement again. H shuddered slightly. How awful would that be? He had been on the inside of one of those rooms only yesterday, but thankfully for just a small period of time. They had let him out as soon as he had taken his medication, but he had a hunch it wouldn't be that easy for Ray. This wasn't the first time.

He had his eyes on the door again; Ray had left through there, Dia had left through there. Dia could return anytime, and hopefully with good news about Ari. He shifted his gaze back to Sara as he waited patiently while she ate.
