Four months ago, the city of Del received startling news. From the mountains in the north came a barbaric breed of cyclops. Hardened from years in the harsh mountains, these creatures came back to the flat lands with a taste for human blood.
At first, the mountain villages assumed they could overcome the threat. However, the beasts displayed a level of intelligence that allowed them to think strategically, and also displayed the ability to communicate. The cyclops seem to be following a leader, though what their motive – besides killing – remains unknown.
The herd of cyclops is slowly creeping towards the center of the region. People are panicking, and they look to the king for a solution. And so, King Ruth looked to the Academy of Dragon Riders.

Many Riders have already been sent to the front lines to provide defense for the royal army. That leaves a handful of trainees and their young dragons at the Academy. After an evaluation, a few highly-skilled trainees have been selected to go on a quest for a magical device called the Krystal. Although they aren't even really sure what it does, the Riders have been instructed to find a wizard named Garth. Garth and the Krystal can apparently provide a solution to the kingdom's current epidemic. With nothing else to go on, the Academy Trainees set out for the Kilo Forest with their dragons, in hope of locating the wizard who can save their country.

----------Starting Out
Our characters will have already departed the Academy and the City of Del. They are a day into the journey and are currently traveling across the vast grass fields around Del. No one has gotten to know each other very well, but they've already spent over a year in the Academy together, therefore they've met and learned each others names.

You may play a riderless dragon, with the understanding that your character could not be directly associated with the quest. We're still working out our plot line, so this might change, but so far, the riders are supposed to be trainees that the king is sending out as a sort of last resort. Right now, I just don't think you'd stay interested if you played only a dragon.

I'm assuming that dragons are not capable of speech outside of thought here, much like in Inheritance? That's one difference between my character idea and that. He can speak verbally and would be quite old (in the tens of thousands), so he could possibly aid in the training? I can discuss it over PM if needed.

Yeah, that's what we were thinking. The dragons would communicate telepathically with riders.
And the idea of your charrie being a trainer is cool. We were going to begin with the riders already starting out on the quest, so would you wanna have your dragon go with them?

Well, of course I'd like my dragon to travel with them, lol. Glad we could work something out. I'll just see if Bird's okay with it, and then get started on a sheet.

It is worth noting that I'm accustomed to Casual and Low-Advanced, so just be ready for some fleshy posts.

Riley is small, bony, and doesn't really appear to be even a little bit strong. He has curly black hair that flops annoyingly in his face, and pale green eyes.

Personality:
Outgoing, loud, and way to opinionated. He refuses to be babied, even if he is young and somewhat inexperienced. He has a way of getting in trouble. He can certainly turn on the charm, though, and it good at getting people to do what he asks.

Bio:
Riley became a Rider mostly by accident. He and his older brother, Keith, were raised on a small family farm in the fields outside of Del. When Keith was selected to attend the Knight's Academy, his younger brother became extremely jealous. After all, who did they think was Keith's sparring partner all the time? Why couldn't he go, too?
In his frustration, Riley began to work on his skills, and soon became a great bowman. However, when he tried again to get into the Academy, they laughed at him once more, insisting he was to young. In his rage at both his brother and the Academy, Riley searched for something he could do to harm them. When he heard about how there were dragon eggs in the castle grounds, he knew exactly what he wanted to do to get back at them. The boy stole a beautiful green egg, taking it back to the farm with him. He didn't consider what he would do if the egg actually hatched. A few months later, Riley slunk back to the Academy with his feisty young dragon, Dynamis, and was accepted into their care. A short six months later, both Riley and his brother were chosen to go on the journey.

Dynamis

Personality:
If there is any creature more stubborn then Riley, its Dynamis. He downright refuses to take orders or follow instruction. However, he is very protective of Riley. The two of them argue often, but Dynamis is always looking at the boy's best interest.

Appearance:
His scales are a pure white. They glitter in the light, giving making it look like he's covered in a layer of dew. His eyes are the same color as Riley's, a dusty green. Since he is still a little under a year old, he is lean and a little on the smaller side.

Name: Caim Caerleon
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Personality: Detached and ruthless, Caim is willing to sacrifice anything, even his own partners, to get the job done.
Bio: Caim was one of the older boy to join the academy, mostly through no overbearing enthusiasm of his own. Caim’s village was among one of the first to be consumed by the Cyclops migration and after the appropriate amount of grief and sorrow his mind turned towards other things, things like revenge.

In his single-minded quest towards vengeance he happened upon a dragon’s egg, which he cared for and hatched with great difficulty. Of course, word of this spread and caught the attention of the royal academy who all but forced him to become a dragon rider under their watchful observation.

Personality: Thoughtful and composed, Angelus is sometimes puzzled at the happening of humans and their emotions and sometimes has trouble sympathizing with their plights, seeing such things as beneath her.

Appearance: [image optional] Sporting: A short, fur lined, fox cloak that is orange in colour and goes down to his waist. Also a dark green tunic, dark green trousers and very worn and old brown leather shoes. His physical description: Blonde hair, light blue/gray eyes, tanned skin.
Personality: Cheerful, talkative, inquisitive and yet slow to action. He likes to voice his thoughts and learn all he can about things around him.
Bio: He came from a humble family. His father a shoemaker and his mother a seamstress. He was out playing capture the flag with a few friends from his neighbourhood-when an envelope arrived for him. It was from the Dragon Academy requiring his attendance. Naturally this was new to him and at first he asked why. But, because his mother and father was so excited and constantly urged him to go, he attended... Making many acquaintances along the way. He had received his Dragon only a short time ago.

Personality: A little rash to make a decision and very protective of Ward. He doesn't take kindly to strangers and is very confident in himself. Although he is a very creative thinker which may seem surprising.

Appearance:
Personality: Lluisa is a very quiet soul, almost rarely does she talk, She hates liveliness and everything about it, the happiness, the joy of feeling the warmth of others, like she did when she was living with her now dead parents. She use to show compassion but now its just simply nothingness, no regret, no anger, no happiness, just a feeling deep down of sorrow. The sorrow of never being able to take back what she did so many many many years ago, the sorrow of leaving the loved ones long dead. She will sometimes show acts of kindness when people she typically doesn't mind. Though much would show, she has the ability to be nice just much rather not be nice to people that she can not tolerate. Other then that when needed to she can act like a totally different person when around the company of friends. She will be somewhat happy and tolerate even the most annoying of people.
Bio: Llusia had been living in the mountains when Soveraths mother had come. She terrorized the village for many dies, killing, destroying and annihilating the villagers completely. The only ones left was her mother, who had tried to save her, but Llusia had been so scared she accidently stabbed her mother in the chest. Soon after that the dragon came back but no one as left but the little girl with a short sword. She faced the dragon and the mother laughed, almost destroying her but then she had a hint of kindness. In attempt to make amends with this young warrior she took her to her nest and let her live with them until of age to fight the mother. She grew up with Soverath and her 2 dragon-kin, developing feelings for Soverath. The mother saw this and thought that maybe, just maybe Soverath and her could develop a bond. One stormy night, a tall monster with the armor of the cyclopes came into the cave and brutally beheaded The mother and Soveraths two dragon-kin. Llusia in a rage stabbed the monster to the point he was nothing but pieces. She had suffered the injury of her right eye and a broken heart but Soverath forever dedicated her life to being with Llusia.

Personality: She is very quiet much like her partner. She can be very evil minded at times but will in the end try to do good. She may not do it the cleanest wise, but she ill get it down none the less. She loves Llusia and will do anything to please her, but this will only go so far. Harming things comes at ease to Soverath, but she sometimes regrets even killing the enemy. She loves other dragons, but move to kill Llusia and she will make sure you are a gruesome death. She is very possessive of Llusia and gets easily jealous
