Back when I had Fire Red, I was bored so I gave every single Pokemon I had a human nickname, lol.

I didn't either until I started the Nuzlocke challenge which had a rule stating I had to nickname my Pokemon. They too got human nicknames.

There are different versions of Nuzlocke, aren't there?

Yeah but giving them names makes me feel closer to my Pokemon and makes it all the more tragic if i lose them

I kinda forget when exactly Kali encountered the darkness. I think it was when she was knocked out for a short time after getting injured. When Zac tried to lift her up, she freaked out, which is why Althea had to knock her out again. I think that's how it went down.

I think you're right. Didn't the darkness also prey on her worries that she might be a liability?

Also, I can't wait until the first time Zac completely loses it >:3

I think the darkness preys on the weakness in the trio's heart. And since Zac has had the hardest life, he was the most susceptible.

And I think the darkness is just trying to magnify Kali's own insecurities. Then, once she feels completely worthless, the darkness will persuade her with promises of power to protect her friends, and boom. A new Heartless.
