So the big difference is it's set on a planet, humans still exist, and the mech-tech available is pretty much just the X-1A, some power-aromor, helicopter-gunships, and light hover-tanks.... maybe some spider-tanks.

So the demihumans are more an unproven PR-novelty in the precinct, and the chief is quietly hoping we don't mess up any harder than the 2nd Patlabor division.
So let's get out and justify those fears.
