Yup, whoever this person is had to be in the loop regarding the protection program, probably someone in the legal business. I can do up an NPC for that once it becomes relevant.

I guess I'm having a hard time figuring out who might be able to do that. But I suppose things are hidden everyday so I can't say it wouldn't happen. I'm just trying to figure out what could happen.

A lot could still happen at this point. We can continue to share ideas and take this in any direction we'd like, no worries if they might be a little crazy, since this is an AU after all. Heck, we could even go sci-fi if convenient. I don't think we've specified the year that this story is taking place in lol.

We never said what year it was so I suppose we could be creative there. I don't want to get to crazy or we have to do world building. I like to keep things as simple as possible but making it futuristic opens possibilities.

I feel like we need to figure out what they find on the chip. I'm thinking evidence or blackmail. But I'm not sure exactly what kind. It has to be something important for Roxy's father to want after so many years.

I'm thinking the key to activating or destroying something, or the passcode to some assets that's been lock away all these years. Meanwhile we could give them a couple of puzzles to solve since this information would also be encrypted or locked behind a password.
