Inspired by the PC game Pathfinder, Wrath of the Righteous, this RP is set in an alien world, far outside our Galaxy, maybe even in another dimension, where magic is real. The alien world of Mer is a little more advanced than ours, and despite being in a multifront Cold War, the world has been in a tenuous, very prosperous peace for decades. However, evil factions have targeted innocent people, so the governments of the world will meet their demands.

The Cultists have created a Hell Mouth under the city of Valykar, one of the largest cities in the world, and unleashed a living Hell on the unsuspecting citizens.

Your Isekai'd protagonists have been brought to one of the only safe bastions in Valykar to help the local resistance and armed services, seal The Hell Mouth and eradicate the demons.

Each of your characters has some kind of Archetype called a Mythic Path at your disposal. The list below is not exhaustive, you can come up with something yourself, such as Superhero, for example.

pathfinderwrathoftherighteous.wiki.fe…

Note:
You start off with great power, but it's at the base level for your Archetype/Mythic Path. Make up a power, and a passive power for your character per level of Mythic Path/Archetype, up to level ten in your character sheet.

Character Sheet:

Age:

Other Information You Want Us To Know:
Archetype/Mythic Path:All protagonists start out superhuman in their physicality, such as strength and speed, regardless of Archetype or Mythic Path.

This concept intrigues me as much as it flummoxes me. I've never played Pathfinder, but my brother did play the computer game you mentioned and he gushed to me about it. It appears to me that this game you are planning to run is free form, and so won't involve all the dice rolling and math that playing Pathfinder typically requires, which I'd like, as I have no idea how to design a strategically viable Pathfinder character.

Even if my assessment is correct, there are still a lot of things about this concept as I am interpreting your Opening Post that confuse me.

Firstly, are our characters being Isekai'd from our world (Earth 2025) to Valykar, or from a fantasy world to Valykar? Are our characters adventurers possessing their Archetype skills prior to being Isekai'd or do they suddenly find themselves with all of these new skills upon finding themselves at Valykar? Are our characters all humans, or could they be other fantasy or alien races?

Secondly, it appeared to me that some of the Mythic Paths listed in that wiki are only available near the end of the game, such as the Swarm that Walks or the Golden Dragon. Is it safe to assume that for the sake of balance (and being able to plausibly be able to work with other players) that these Paths are off limits? Also, are you expecting players to have an Archetype and a Mythic Path, or are you expecting players to base their abilities off of one or the other?

Thirdly, your mention of all of our characters having superior speed and strength implies that everyone basically will already have fighter stats. Do you think this will make characters that go for more of a wizard-like archetype unbalanced, since that character wouldn't have the usual drawback of being vulnerable in close quarters combat?

Lastly, since this takes place in a sci-fi setting, would characters use sci-fi weapons like laser rifles and energy swords instead of cudgels and bows like the Pathfinder classes would typically use?

As for the Isekai setting, the world you are in is Mer, the city is Valykar, and your original world is Earth, yes. :D

All good questions. The problem is I accidentally linked to the Archetypes and Classes instead of the Mythic Paths. Don't worry, ALL MYthic Paths are open, this is not a carbon copy of Pathfinder. Also, yes, you can use weapons of any kind, ancient/Medieval, modern or sci Fi.

As for the wizard and spell casting characters being more powerful than others, well in real life, if we can call it that, yes, they would be, but not necessarily in this RP.

Edit-
As for the Archetype/Mythic Path thing, you know what, why not have both? ::pepsi commercial::

That clears up a lot. So basically, our characters would be from Earth in the year 2025 one moment, and then something would happen, and then they would find themselves in Mer with a bunch of new skills, superhuman capabilities, and supernatural abilities. I guess they would also arrive with some (or all?) of their equipment?

Now for a few more questions. How realistic do you want to be regarding logistics? Like, if my character is proficient with M4 Carbines, will their M4 Carbine become useless as soon as they expend all of the mags they arrived at Mer with? Would the people at Mer somehow have the ability to fabricate 5.56x45mm cartridges?

What kind of equipment would the demons be using? Would they mostly be using futuristic or modern-ish stuff, or would the demons be fighting with claws, flaming swords, and fire breath?

I guess the idea of using all kinds of weapons is cool, but there is a reason that swords have mostly been phased out of combat. I would think that being a master duelist wouldn't help my character that much if they found themselves having to clear machine gun nests or defeat tanks, battle mechs, drones, planes, helicopters, etc. If the demons are using sufficiently advanced technology, I can see abilities like turning into a big golden dragon becoming disadvantagous, since you would then become a large target that could be subjected to a bunch of shells, large caliber bullets, and missiles.

On a related note, what kind of punishment are you expecting our characters to be able to take? Would our characters be able take a dozen shots from a heavy machine gun and survive, or get shot in the chest by a demon sniper from half a mile away and not have to spend the next few weeks at a hospital? Would our characters have armor that could defeat several hits from the enemies we are facing?

Yes everyone's a person from 2025, finding themselves in a society where everything is at least a few decades more advanced. But don't worry, the locals and provide reto tech.
The demons would have smarties, dimmies and inbetweenies when it comes to combat. So some would be trying to get up close, and others would try to kill from a distance.
Well, I can imagine every one having the durability to survive city block level devastation. But, you would get tougher as you rise up in ranks. AND you could also don armors.

I think I'm hooked. If you decide to go further with this concept, I'll plan on joining up if I am in a good position to do so at that time.

I have a couple more questions. A lot of the Pathfinder character archetypes appear to get powers from deities. Would our characters of such an archetype find themselves dedicating themselves to a deity of Mer's pantheon? If so is Mer's pantheon basically the same as Pathfinder's pantheon?

Really the only things that are the same or almost the same is the idea of "Kill the Demons", and "Mythic Paths". You can make up your own gods or get powers from the local Pantheon if you want.

I'm still interested in this RP, even if it just ends up being the two of us, although of course I'd look forward to writing with anyone else interested in this idea as well.

Ello, I'm super new to the site as you might be able to tell but I was looking around for Pathfinder inspired RP and I ran into this- you're still looking for players?

Character Sheet: (Do I actually have to make a whole PF character sheet here? I can do it, but a level 10 Cavalier would take me a bit)

Name: Valiant Flint

Age: Adult

Appearance: A rugged looking gnome warrior astride a powerful looking wolf.

Background: Nothing is really known about Valiant before he came into this new world. Some presume he used to be a human, but transported to another dimension changed him, transformed him into something else entirely. He's shed his human ancestry entirely and embraced his new form, that of a small colorful gnome! At first his new size and weaker strength hindered him greatly, but this quickly changed when he discovered that his new size allowed him to ride wolves as if they were horses. To make matters more interesting, his natural new magic and charisma made the taming of such animals easy, they were naturally drawn to him. The Queen of the Wolves herself in fact heeded his call and became his personal battle steed. Now, armed with axe, shield and lance, powered by the magic of the fey and the Wolf Queen as his steed, Valiant seeks his fortune and glory in this new world.

Other Information You Want Us To Know: Will look around for pics of him and such.

Archetype/Mythic Path: I'm just going straight Cavalier here.
