Tucked away between buildings and streets that seem to lead to nowhere, veiled beneath a sky coated in smog and soot, the city of Halcyon is a place that only exists in whispers and tales.
It was built that way.
Long before the first breath of humanity, Halcyon rose from the darkness, the ancient bloodlines of Halcyon struck a deal with dark powers that twisted the fabric of supernatural existence. The world had outgrown the fear of the dark, and the creatures that lived there — the Fae, the vampires and the lycans, the things that should never have walked among men — would soon find themselves exposed, hunted, and nearly brought to extinction
To survive, they made a pact — not just to hide, but to erase their very existence from the world’s memory. To be forgotten.
With a spell of unfathomable power, the Fae wove the Glamour — a force so intricate, so absolute, that Halcyon itself was now hidden from the world. A city wrapped in shadows, suspended in time, its very geography defying reason. Maps crumble to dust. Memories distort and vanish. Those who wander too close to the city’s boundaries find themselves lost in endless roads that lead to nowhere.
Inside the Glamour’s fold, Halcyon thrives, a twisted sanctuary where the monsters rule unseen and unchallenged. But their kingdom, built on blood and power, is not as perfect as it once was.
Beneath the surface of ancient stone and overgrown thorns, something is beginning to crack. The fragile peace that holds the supernatural powers together is weakening, the threads of their bond unraveling one by one.The underbelly stirring awake with chaotic energy.
The laws that once kept the darkness in check are beginning to bend, to break. The creatures that walked in shadow now hunger for more than just survival. And in the depths of the city, in the forgotten corners of Halcyon, something ancient stirs — a force that was never meant to be freed.
As the Glamour starts to falter, so too does the city’s facade. The creatures who once existed in the safety of Halcyon’s false reality now see the cracks forming, the whispers of rebellion spreading like wildfire. Betrayals fester in the shadows, and blood flows once again. There are those wanting to break free from the cracks, while others are working hard to restore Halcyon to what it once was.

Halcyon is a city that shouldn’t exist. Hidden behind an ancient Fae enchantment called the Veil, it erases itself from maps, twists streets back on themselves, and warps memory until leaving becomes almost impossible. Most people who live here think the outside world is real. They believe they could leave if they tried, yet somehow missed flights, wrong turns, and sudden obligations always pull them back. Supernaturals know the truth: the city is contained. Only a rare few humans, called Wardens, have awakened to the Veil. They can see through its distortions and resist them. Lately, the cracks in the Veil are growing. People feel it in misplaced memories, strange navigation errors, and the sudden surge of violence that seems to pulse through the city. Something is wrong, and everyone can sense it.
Power in Halcyon is divided, messy and tense. Vampires rule the upper tiers with a precision that feels more like a performance than law. Magnus Corvane, an ancient Elder, enforces it through ritual, beauty, and a carefully curated idea of family. Turning humans without permission is forbidden. Disorder in public is punished. Fae blood is off-limits. Recently, one of Magnus’s most prized children, Angel, went missing. Her absence has stirred whispers and quiet scheming in the Corvane inner circle. Outside help has even been brought in to find her, though who sent it is a closely guarded secret. During her disappearance, Angel and Sean, a warden, discover an underground fae blood ring.
The Lycans, Halcyon’s werewolves, run by pack law and loyalty. They control much of the industrial districts and the black market, and they enforce their rules with teeth and blood. That fragile order shattered when Logan Delaney, second-in-command of the Iron Fangs pack, was found murdered in a warehouse. It wasn’t a feeding. It wasn’t random. The Iron Fangs, led by their alpha Dominic, treat it as a message and have started hunting whoever sent it. Tension hangs in the air, thick and biting, as everyone wonders if it was a vampire, a rival lycan, or someone deliberately covering their tracks. The pack is on war footing, and every movement is drawing attention.
The Fae are older than the city itself, bound by truth and oath. They maintain the Veil, but they do not rule openly. They manipulate through contracts, favors, and careful words, moving pieces on a board only they can see. As the Veil weakens, their presence is more obvious. Deals are made, Untethered Fae act independently, and while they claim to preserve balance, it feels like they are feeding on the chaos rather than stopping it.
Against all of this stand the Wardens. Awakened humans tasked with hunting, containing, and erasing supernatural threats, they keep the Veil intact. Trust is fraying, and their investigations are starting to collide dangerously with the activities of vampires and lycans.
Several crises are unfolding at once. The Iron Fang murder has drawn packs and Wardens toward the same warehouse. Magnus Corvane is tightening his grip, using fear disguised as love to keep control. And complicating everything further.
Certain places have become convergence points, where factions collide without realizing it. The Pink Room, The Velvet Bite, The Eclipse, and most recently, The Underground. That last venue is grimy and chaotic, drawing predators, addicts, enforcers, and hunters into the same space. Storms are rolling in. Nightlife is growing wilder. The city feels like it’s teetering on the edge of something violent.
At a recent event in The Underground, the Wardens secretly tested dangerous new products. One gas, designed to send vampires into a blood-crazed frenzy, caused a disaster. Casualties were high. Nobody knows who is responsible, but the Lycans were hit especially hard. Members of the Iron Fangs were present, which has only fueled fear and suspicion across every faction.

Chaos is increasing, places like The Underground, The Pink Room, and The Velvet Bite are hotspots where factions collide, and new threats—like deadly vampire gas tested by Wardens—have escalated current tensions.
