The World Shaped by Chaos
Intro - The World became different due to Chaos!
Long ago, humanity uncovered a force once believed to belong only to gods.
It was called by many names, but most came to know it simply as chaos—a primal energy said to have shaped the universe itself. At first, it brought miracles. Abilities manifested. The impossible became possible. Civilization surged forward.
Then control was lost.
Chaos spread faster than understanding. Reality fractured. Lands twisted. From the instability emerged creatures later named Chaostaori—beings born of uncontrolled chaos, hostile to the world that birthed them. Humanity stood on the brink of annihilation.
It was during this collapse that four individuals rose above all others.
History remembers them only as the Great Powers. Whether by will, fate, or sacrifice, they reached a state beyond what any human could sustain. Together, they halted the collapse of the world and reshaped what remained.
The land was divided into four major regions, stabilized and separated from the chaos beyond. Around them, a vast expanse of pale, unnatural woodland was formed—the White Forest—a living barrier meant to contain the unknown and keep the Chaostaori at bay.
The world survived.
The World Today
The Known World exists within these four regions, each shaped by ideology, culture, and unseen influence.
The 1st's Reach stands as a land of order and authority, where structure and command define daily life.
The 2nd's Dominion values strength above all else, a harsh territory where power determines status. This is where the majority of the sub-humans reside in or originate from. They are not technologically advanced and are considered more behind in technology than the rest of the regions.
The 3rd's Witness is a center of scholarship and inquiry, where research into chaos, history, and hidden truths is pursued—often obsessively. They more ahead of their time with their technology, not of this time.
The 4th's Abandoned remains unruled, a fractured but freer land where individuals carve their own paths without a Great Power’s dominion.
Though the Great Powers still exist, none rule openly. Their presence is distant, indirect, and often feared.
Beyond the regions lies the White Forest—a place few dare to enter. Those who do may never return, or may emerge somewhere else entirely. Some believe the forest is a gate. Others believe it is a test.
Despite the barrier, chaos is not fully contained.
Chaos Zones appear without warning—areas where reality destabilizes, and Chaostaori can emerge. Their appearances are rare, unpredictable, and devastating.
YOUR PLACE IN THE WORLD
You are not a hero by default.
You may be a scholar, a soldier, a wanderer, a survivor, or something else entirely. You may possess an ability—or you may seek one. You may serve a region, reject them all, or pursue truths long buried.
The world is shaped, but not finished.
Chaos still moves.
Secrets remain.
And the unknown waits beyond the White Forest.
