Dungeons of Drakkenheim


DRAKKENHEIM IS NO MORE. An eldritch storm
of falling stars devastated the city on that woeful eve,
leaving behind a meteorite that would have lasting
effects. Fifteen years later, Drakkenheim is a dismal
urban wasteland contaminated by otherworldly magic and
haunted by hideous monsters. Fantastic wealth, lost knowledge,
and powerful artifacts lie ready for the taking by adventurers
brave or foolish enough to venture into the ruins. However, even
those who survive the dangers of Drakkenheim may not return
unmarked by its terrors!

Quick Question, provided you intended to say 30 yards, that would mean one bandit is 90 feet away. How close are the other two?

I'm sorry. What I meant was that the farmstead is 30 yards behind the bandit who lies alone. As for how far the bandits are from you, that would depend on how close you intend to get. They are lying on opposite sides of the road which is maybe 20 feet wide.

Hey so I see now I need to be careful what synonyms I use for naming enemies. I've been calling them bandits but they're actually using thug stats. I think that, to keep you from needing to change anything, we'll just retcon and pretend they are in fact bandits. I do apologize for how easy this encounter is. That being said, bandits wouldn't have put up much more of a fight anyway, they just wouldn't die as quickly, lol.

Could you please tell me about how old Maxwell is? Also, as it may come up later, how conventionally attractive is he on a scale from 1-5?

Not sure how much RP you want to do before we get to the next big "thing". I'm happy to go slow like this but if you're feeling antsy I can speed the scenes along a bit.

Out of curiosity, what would a Natural 20 on an Insight check tell Maxwell about what might be going through Eren's head as he comments on the mention of the Old Gods, falls silent, and begins properly paying attention to Maxwell?

A natural 20 would tell you that Eren is putting some pieces together from your time on the road. He remembers you said that the man you're tracking is a "pagan" and yet your seeming affiliation with the old gods would also put you in the pagan camp. Now that he's seen you kill, he's wondering just how dangerous you might be as his unfamiliarity with the old gods makes you feel somewhat unpredictable to him.

Outside in the rain and mud he sees three people. The first is a man pounding on the door with the hood of his fancy cloak drawn back. He appears to be in his thirties and is armed with a sheathed rapier. Two hooded and cloaked figures stand a short distance behind him. The shorter of the pair has a bow and quiver of arrows slung over their back. It is difficult to identify their gender and appearance in the darkness but you think it might be a woman judging by the slightness of their shoulders. The other person is also unidentifiable and appears to be heavily leaning upon the archer for support. They are armed with a shortsword and have a shield strapped to their back.

Themes: [...], romance?


I was previously ambivalent on the topic of this particular theme. But then I got my hands on the Strixhaven book recently and saw that an optional rule provided therein allows close relationships to convey mechanical benefit. Now my inner munchkin would very much like to know more about any ideas you might have for romantic themes.

Haha. Well, I have the Strixhaven book but it's been a couple of years since I read through it. Is that system in particular one you would like to use? I'll admit I have already been scheming about certain characters to potentially set Maxwell up with. I'm happy to freestyle any relationship progression but if you prefer to have tangible mechanics behind romance then that's definitely something we can consider.

Yeah, that's the one.


I'll admit I have already been scheming about certain characters to potentially set Maxwell up with. I'm happy to freestyle any relationship progression but if you prefer to have tangible mechanics behind romance then that's definitely something we can consider.


The only mechanical bit I'm really after is the Beloved Inspiration. The rest I can take or leave at your preference. If you'd rather drop Relationship Points in favor of purely fluff-based relationship development, we could certainly do that.
