As the post states I am fresh to using forums for roleplaying or looking for writing partners.
I'm 27 and have roleplayed on various mediums over the years ever since I got access to a computer as kid. :D Though most of this has been on less text-involved things like AltisLife, FiveM, etc. For the past 2 or 3 years I have become much more interested in text based and appreciate the medium a lot more than I did as a kid looking for flashy graphics and sandbox. I got into roleplay with games like zomboid and FFXIV using text based but unfortunately I am way to shy to insert or introduce myself in these large public spaces and often miss out on opportunities to gain more experience.
At the end of last year I gave reddit searches a try, while daunting at first it was easy to find someone who was willing to be patient with my writing style and let me try and adapt to their experience levels. It was a lot of fun and as our stories came to an end I was recommended to Roleplayer Guild many times.
For styles I really enjoy one-on-one primarily because I don't have to worry about holding others up or trying to please a large group (I do make mistakes). I wouldn't be opposed to groups but it's just something I have never tried. I do prefer fast-paced and somewhat shorter entries but this is just because I have conditioned (or restricted) myself to this style with the roleplay mediums I experienced growing up, though I am actively working on writing more complex and lengthy replies.
I like a lot of genres or a mixture of many from stories about simple friends in a slice of life scenario, dramatic romances to darker toned stories with heartbreak, betrayal or things that make you feel angry OOC like a great book U-U.
I'd like to warn anybody though that I work globally so my timezone and availability will sometimes change with a short notice though I do my best to let partners know as soon as I do! Outside of this and work I typically just listen to music, study things I am interested in, play games or explore wherever work has taken me!
