The shootin didn't seem to stop the beings, and Shakuntala yelped, bringing her sword up and in a single jerking motion, stabbed it through the neck.bit fell as it tried to get air in through it's ruined windpipe, and she sat breathing hard.

Targen was fine, standing over the being he had killed. He went over to Rory, helping the robot up. He appeared undamaged, except for a few stretches to his paint work, but Rory had long since discarded any attachment to his paint work, which had indeed faded over the long time since he had been built.

Shakuntala shook her head, starting to cry. She had never taken another's life before, not even an animal, and the healer spirit within her cringed at this. She let her head drop into her bloodied hands, shaking

Shakuntala nodded, and pushed herself up, shaking. "its still killing" She said softly, "And I feel like I've betrayed who I am" She started back towards camp, after satisfying herself that Rory was okay.

It was as she was walking back, that she heard the roar of outrage, and remember the one she had stabbed in the tree. Shakuntala spun as the being charged her, a large slash mark on it arm, which it held close to its body. She didn't have her sword, having foolishly left it behind.

She stared shocked, unable to move. As it came upon her, she lifted her hands protectively in front of her. it grabbed her, and she screamed, latching her hands onto its arm, trying to pull herself free.

Power surged through her, her normal power of healing, and yet different. energy flooded through her, and the being fell to the ground, lifeless. She struggled to get herself out from under it, chest painful against broken ribs even as they started to heal.

River whipped around and almost grabbed the being, barely missing and watching in horror as it tackled Tala and then wasn't getting back up. "Tala?!" He exclaimed, shoving the being off of her.

Shakuntala groaned, lay panting on the ground, short swallow breaths as the broken ribs healed rapidly. "Its dead. How?" She managed to get out as she rolled onto her back with a whimper.

Targen had spun about, picking up Shakuntala's sword at her scream, looking about, but by then, it was already over

Shakuntala winced, because she did have an idea, and sat up, laying a hand on her side, which was tender, but the ribs had healed. "Well" She said with a cough, holding out a handle for him to help her up, then thinking better of it, she dropped her hand and pushed herself into a standing position, "I have a theory, and I don't like it"

Shakuntala had no idea how to describe what she had done. So she said, "When I touched him as he tackled me...I think...I think I used my healing abilities to kill him, taking life energy instead of healing..." She wrapped her arms around herself, shaking

Shakuntala shoved her hands in her pockets. She would not touch anyone until she knew what had happened for sure. She didn't want to accidentally kill any of them. She fell silent, withdrawing into herself. She had used her power to kill.
