It was as she was walking back, that she heard the roar of outrage, and remember the one she had stabbed in the tree. Shakuntala spun as the being charged her, a large slash mark on it arm, which it held close to its body. She didn't have her sword, having foolishly left it behind.
She stared shocked, unable to move. As it came upon her, she lifted her hands protectively in front of her. it grabbed her, and she screamed, latching her hands onto its arm, trying to pull herself free.
Power surged through her, her normal power of healing, and yet different. energy flooded through her, and the being fell to the ground, lifeless. She struggled to get herself out from under it, chest painful against broken ribs even as they started to heal.
