In the 23rd century, insect-like creatures, known as Arachnids, launch an unprovoked attack on Earth. Using an asteroid as a weapon, they kill millions of people in an instant. In response, the Terran Federation begins a massive military campaign to eliminate the Arachnid threat. The primary weapon of the Federation is the Mobile Infantry. These highly trained soldiers are deployed via drop ships onto the battlefield and do battle with the bugs up close.

Okay, I’m a huge fan of the movies and animated series, and I’ve been dying to do something in the S.T. Universe.

Now there were two ways I was thinking of going with this, either:

You’re a member of Sabre 7-2-6, a Mobile Infantry platoon, carrying out missions in campaigns throughout the galaxy.
OR
We each command a squad as part of a larger M.I. division and either carry out joint or independent operations.

I’ve got a bunch of ideas for missions etc, but I’m also open to suggestions.

So what say you? Is anyone interested?

So I'm ok with the squad idea but I'm not really sure how many more people we should get. Any thoughts?

More the better. People will agree to play then not do it. People will start to play then suddenly quit without warning.

I'd be interested if you pull from the book a little more. The movies were nice and all, but it just doesn't beat the MI stomping out swarms of bugs in the Marauder suits. This is a Marauder suit:

The MI is far more powerful in the book, but the bugs are also far more numerous. Where the movies had hundreds of thousands of bugs in a single fight, the book had hundreds of millions in a single invasion. They died a lot more, but had a lot more to throw away. A single MI trooper could take out thousands of bugs before going down, but the bugs could afford thousands of losses far more easily.

The film universe also had giant mech suits. They also had power armors that were slightly bigger than the grunt inside.

M11 Babar aka Marauder 3rd movie
Marauder MK-II 4th movie
Power Suit 4th movie
Marauder power suit from one of the games (not sure if the game is set in the film universe)[/url]

Yeah, but in the book the Marauders were present way before the Bug War began. They were nothing special when the Bug War began, being standard issue for quite a long time at the beginning of the war.

From what I know of the book. The Marauder suits had no reason to exist until after the Bug War began.

That be like inventing a giant robot to fight Godzilla before Godzilla was even born.

The Marauders in the book were not designed specifically with the Bugs in mind. It seems to imply that they predate the Bug War. In the book, Marauders seemed to be designed to be what body armor and M4's are today: standard infantry attire and armament. Even if they were designed for the Bug War, they still came in very, very early on, early enough that, by the time Rico enlisted, Marauders were being mass-produced and every cap trooper got one. And if their Marauder was destroyed, they got another at no cost to them, so it's not like Marauders were precious resources.
