Okay, so this might not seem that original but it will have plenty of twists to keep it interesting. In this RP you will play as a civil war general (Union or Confederate) it may be a character of your own design or a historical general. But what makes this RP special is that you live the life of a general not just control it. For instance, your whole company has been decimated and all that remains is handful of men and you command them to charge strait into a hail of musket balls so you can make your escape. Would they? I'm also saying screw history so the only real history that really matters is the start of the war. After that the troop movements and battles are all up to the players. As GM I would decide the battles outcome as I see fit. I would also very much like to participate so I would have a co-GM on the other Nation I don't pick so that we could discuss the battles outcome together so that it would be fair. You really wont need much historical knowledge on the civil war so don't worry. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Might be tempted to explore it, big trick is trying to figure out all the actions that soldiers undertake in a battlefield situation....panic, disease, wounded, incapacitation....small as a squad, up to a division in size....could be fun to see how you'd operate forces on the battlefield though.

Maybe we could do dice rolls for every battle to see about stuff like that? Thoughts?

Well... you are really playing a character in that nation not really the nation itself. Like for example some guy on the Union side could defect to the confederates.
